New transmission at 13,500 miles!!!!

So...my car had been making sort of a whistling noise coming from the right under acceleration. I take it in this morning to have it checked and I just got a call saying the car needs a new transmission. How crazy is that???? It worries me that I will have problems from now on but I'm pretty much left with no choice but to have them fix whatever the prob. is and just hope that it doesn't happen again.

I don't think I'm keeping the car once the warranty is up though.

I just wanted to share the story with you guys.

Sorry for lack of detail. Yes, MCS and manual. Can't remember week it was built but back in March 2007.

Had a 03 MCS manual and within the first 20K miles had 3 starters, clutch and flywheel replaced and an electrical fire ... ahhh ... the thrill of ownership. It should have been a sign. Blast to drive when it was working properly but a PITA when it wasn't. Walked into the dealer one day during a maintenance visit and the receptionist commented on my car saying how cute it was ... and asked how I liked it? When I finished giving her the list of everything that had gone wrong she merely said, "oh, you got one of those" and walked away.

Still, it was one of the most enjoyable vehicles I've had in over 30 years of driving.

Sigh ...

Cheers

Yeah, I love the car!!!! At least it didn't leave me stranded...that would've been pretty bad. So I guess it's all good as long as they spot the prob. and fix it right.

Yeah, I just got a new gasket and cylinder at 36K on my 2005 MCS. (Don't know enough about cars to know if that constitute a transmission rebuild -- let me know if it does through private message) My coolant slowly leaked out and by the time the car alerted me, it was too late -- melted it, blew a gasket and warped the cylinder and screwed up a few other things. BUT hopefully won't have any other problems and for now it is worth it!!! Heard they fixed a lot of problems with the new '08 models???
