Sunroof graphic...what to go with?

http://homepage.mac.com/sharding678/PhotoAlbum1.html Just want a few opinions of the graphic. The darker squares will be in Space blue while the white ones would be clear. I also asked him to send me one with a Queen on it. Just wondering what you all thought of it. Any input would be helpful and appreciated since I'm having trouble making up my mind.
Thanks...
Shannah

You have one too many "http://" in the link and wouldn't open. I removed it and was able to see the pic.

Cool design! Can you post a pic (or link) of the design with the Queen? I'm not sure which idea I like better, the king or queen graphic. Both sound good and either would look awesome.

So is the chess piece also clear or is it white??? It is so hard to tell looking on a computer screen vs seeing in person but...from what I see on the computer screen the chess piece may need more detail like outlining or shading so you can def tell what it is. Other than that cool idea

Personally, I like the King the best. The additional detail (cross) on the top looks better to me.

I think bamatt brought up a good idea with the outlining/shading.

the white part of the checkerboard is clear so it'll actually be the color of rhe sunroof. The chess piece is light silver. So with the contrast of the sunroof rather than a white background, it will stand out more. Thanks for your input.

So if the dark squares are space blue and the white squares are clear - color of the sunroof which is black - I don't think that is enough contrast between the squares.

I still think Bamatt's idea of outlining the chess piece is a good idea.

Thanks for your input, it helps a lot to consider things I didn't at first consider. I really am hoping that I can have them before the dragon.

Why not have checkers on the board insted of the overlapping chess piece. Black and Red checkers on the black and white background would be cool.
Get it 'CHECKERS'. Just a thought.

"check·mate P Pronunciation Key (chkmt)
tr.v. check·mat·ed, check·mat·ing, check·mates
To attack (a chess opponent's king) in such a manner that no escape or defense is possible, thus ending the game."

Considering the definition I'd go with the King. Cute idea

What color is your roof?

My roof color is silver...I've been having trouble deciding colors because of that. I didn't want white because I thought it would look funny next to silver.

Hmm, well perhaps you can do the checkerboard with silver squares alternating with clear (blk glass color) and make the King Space Blue or have the King silver with a thick line in blue around it to set it apart? Or have the silver/SB checks with the King black outlined in white? It all depends on whether you can match the silver and SB - esp the silver as it will be right next to the paint. I do find it hard to see the King clearly when it is solid silver as in the graphic, not sure if that will be true in person. I think some white or another bright contrasting color would look good and make the graphic stand out, but it all depends on how you feel about adding colors. If you do add a new color into the mix you can pick it up with another graphic on the car too - I think a little King piece somewhere else could look very cool.

The other thing you could do would be to drop the checks on the roof, have them fade, or just intersparce a few in there to hint at the full pattern w/o having it juxtaposed as much with the King graphic.

Hope that helps in some way

thanks for all the input. Ed at cooper flags has been a great help aswell with the new color combos. Hopefully I'll figure it out by the end of this week so that I'll have it in time for the dragon. Wouldn't that be sweeeet!! CHECKS would look like a Stud with all his new graphics...Adding Boot Stripes Too!! :D

Since Checks is a he, I would defenetely go with the king unless you are saying he is a queen.

Well I have put in my order for my sunroof graphic. The board will be space blue and white and the King chess piece will be pepperwhite with a black outline. Thanks to everyones input it helped a lot and I can't wait to get it. If anyone is ever wanting a custom sunroof graphic Ed at Cooper flags has been a great help with all of my questions and concerns. I can't wait to see it and he's working on coming up with my boot stripes now!! Can't wait to see what he comes up with for those. Thanks again for everyones input.

Sounds nice! Did you go for another King somewhere else on the car as I mentioned? Just curious

not yet, because I haven't figured out where to put one. I though maybe of putting one on the boot with CHECKS signature or something. Have any suggestions on where to put it...Maybe a window graphic on my side rear windows.

how about a little King on the 'checkmate' checkerboard on the front fender? Rear/side window is what I was first thinking of.

Beauty idea - can't wait to see it.
I like the idea of a little King on your front fener chessboard too, so long as you can keep it simple. You could always just put a little crown on one spot-- I believe some old 2-d chess programs labelled the piece that way.

Space blue is sweet btw---saw it close up in the dealership today and confirmed for myself that I like it.

Boot Stripe

Check out the Boot Stripe Ed designed for me I think it looks pretty cool. It should all be put on in time for the Dragon. It's pretty awesome isn't it?

how about a little King on the 'checkmate' checkerboard on the front fender?
Ed is working on that now too.
