No such thing as a MINI...

I just called my AAA guy to talk about getting my insurance changed to my new MINI, and they do not seem to have MINI in their systems at all. Had them look under BMW, and still a No. Anyone else have this happen? I just think its rather strange....

I have Allstate & they figured it out. But the DMV still hasn't figured it out. Sunnie is listed as a BMW two door

USAA had it listed as MINI... The agent asked "Is that one of those Coopers? I LOVE those cars!"

I did have the DMV agent (registration) ask about my 1996 AMG Hummer (Pre-GM) a few years ago - she INSISTED it was some sort of Ferrari I asked to see her screen and AM General was there - plain as day.

My 2003 MINI was insured with Pekin Insurance with no problems and with my 2005 I have Nationwide Insurance - it's listed as a BMW Mini. I didn't have any problems getting it registered either, but I live in Illinois.

You know, it was one thing back in 2002 if an insurance company, DMV, or whatever didn't know what a MINI was, but now there are what, like 100,000 of them on the roads in the US?

Yeah, I was like 'Did you try under BMW?' I know they own MINI, but I still think of it as British, not German as some people say. But I'm funny like that.

I have AAA as well. They didn't seem to have a problem when I signed my MINI up 2 years ago. My card says "Make: MINI."

By the way, AAA just REDUCED my insurance recently (due to a good driving record and credit rating ). I can give you my agent's name if you want.
