Need tires for 18" JCW rims

I need to replace 2 tires on my 03 JCW mini. It has Bridgestone runflats on them size 205/40/18. I only checked with one shop but they want like $300 per tire which seems crazy to me. Do any other brands or sizes fit? I wanted to check with the locals as well as do my online searching thanks.

What are your needs?
Summer, All-season, runflat or nonrunflat?

Summer non-runflat - Yokohama S-drive $139 each

Summer runflat - Pirelli PZero RFT $279 each

Change to 215/35/18 and you could pick from these 8 summer and 5 all season tires at Tire Rack from $87 to $167 each - all non-runflat, however

This car only gets driven in the summer and the runflats seem to be super harsh and expesive so regular tires are fine.

Keep in mind, though, if you change to 215/35/18, you'd want a set of 4, not just 2.
That would keep the ABS and tire pressure monitor system happy.
Many would balk at mixing 2 runflats with 2 non-runflats, but that depends how you
feel about having tires with different handling properties at both ends.

Correct. After doing some further research on tire rack it looks like 4 summer tires would be cheaper than 2 run flats. I think I am going in that direction but was unsure of the two sizes listed. Do I stay with the same size tire or go with the 235. The suspension is stock.

Could easily go with either. One's a little shorter with a wider tread, and the other's a little taller and not quite as wide,
but they're pretty close to each other. More choices in the 215/35/18. Both should fit fine.
The 215/35/18 is about the same diameter as the stock 175/65/15 or 205/50/16 - a common substitute for the stock 16s.
The 205/40/18 is about the same diameter as the stock 195/55/16, and the stock 205/45/17 is about midway between the two.

For specific recommendations:

in 205/40/18: - UHP Summer - Yokohama S-Drive

in 215/35/18:
- Max perfomance Summer -Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric
-UHP Summer - Bridgestone Potenza RE-760
or BFG g-force T/A DDW2 if you don't mind a noisy tire
-UHP All Season - Conti Extreme Contact DWS

Fyi, if you buy your tires online, I went with Discount Tire since they were cheaper, Sapaugh charges $10 a tire to mount and balance best price in our area
