K&N Filter.....stupid question

For the last 10+ years, I have always put a K&N filter in my cars/motorcycles. I ordered a K&N filter for my 06 MCS and it came yesterday.

Last night, I grabbed a cold beer and went to the garage to put it in.

The more I looked at it, the further I got from figuring out where the thing goes!!!

Don't laugh now, remember, I am the new guy!

It goes in the air filter box, silly On the Coopers, it's located up front by the battery. I do believe on the S, it is towards the windshield or the back of the engine bay. Perhaps, someone with an S can tell you exactly where to look. Maybe that cold beer clouded your vision

No kidding?! I guess I need to go look again! If it is right there and obvious, I will be mortified!

Up near the firewall on the driver's side. It's under the black hump-shaped cover that says "We Recommend MINI Synthetic Motor Oil 5W-30".

Duh!

Opened the hood, and THERE IT WAS! Why on earth did I not see that last night? You would think I have been getting around on a skate board for the last 35 years!

Thanks ScottRiqui!

No, I'm sure there is a slight gain with the K&N, throttle response should be better, as they tend to "breathe" better then the OEM filters.

With my motorcycles, I have always changed the exhaust, and intake. With a motorcycle you can really see a difference. I was not expecting to "feel" anything, but I think I really can!!
