This makes me extremely happy. Having been a previous owner of a Modified M3, the best I was ever able to place in that highly competitve class was 3rd. This has been a contributing factor as to why I don't miss the ///M as much as I thought I would.

That is why I am bringing a stop watch to the next event. Might not be a 100% but at least it will give me an idea of how I am doing from one run to the next. See if things I am working on are making a difference or not.

I was hoping they would post the results of all three runs. We have Matt's photos thankfully.

RE trophies

6/8/12 cylinder BMW: 16 entries, 3 trophies
///M Modified: 13 entries, 4 trophies
///M stock: 8 entries, 3 trophies
MINI Cooper: 20+ entries, 2 trophies

Hopefully we'll see a change in how deep they go in the MINI field trophies at the next event (more like ///M Modified).

I am afraid that would require some sort of intervention from us. Just as you have suggested earlier. Unless we speak up, they just might be happy keeping the status quo. Not saying we should go in guns blazing, but a gentle suggestion just might have the desired effect.

I talked with a couple of the SD BMWCCA people after the last event about this issue specifically (requesting trophies go deeper in the MINI class). My understanding coming out of that was that there was going to be a meeting of the L.A. and San Diego BMWCCA autocross groups in the week following the SD event, and this would be raised. If we don't see any changes at the next event, then I'm down for attending one of those meetings myself. For now though, I'm taking a wait and see approach.
