I'm in a similar position (penciled in). I'm going to Michigan at some point in September, but the dates haven't been nailed down yet.

Hi Dave,
Pencil me in. I should have my new Smini by then. I might even bring my son down as well. What is the age limit for competing? Does SD BMWCCA have anything against a shared ride?
Thanks!
Garth

You will both still need to be BMWCCA members ($40 each, become a BMWCCA member before the day of the event) and you'll both need to pay the entry fee ($45 each).
Joe: I just marked you down as attending. let me know if that's not the case.
I love my rewinds. They aren't bad at 15x7 and 14.6 lbs either (not super light, but pretty acceptable given that the 15x5 holies are 12 lbs).

Are you running 225's(which tires)? Goodwin Racing has a great deal on the Konig's, I'm just a little strapped for cash right now. Camber plates are also on my wish list. Which ones do you have?
I'm running 205/50 R15 currently. I have also used 205/55 R15 (closer to stock diameter). 205 seems to me to be about the limit of 7" wide wheels without getting the tread bulging over the sides.
If you get the rewinds, keep in mind you also need hubcentric rings. I got mine by calling discount tire direct and telling them I needed a set of metal hubcentric rings for 15" konig wheels for MINI fitment. The rings ran about $15 as I recall.

The MINIs will probably be randomly put into the run groups, so there should be MINIs driving the course throughout the day. First cars out on course should be around 9 AM and the driving continues until about 5 PM.
We set up a MINI pit area and hang out together. When you come to Qualcomm, you'll proceed to the West Lot, sign the BMWCCA waiver (no entry fee), and find parking that isn't someone's pit area.
BMWCCA does provide lunch for participants included in their entry fee, but spectators can buy lunch from BMWCCA if they like for $5 (as I recall).
Hope to see you there.
Dave
I'm sure regardless of whatever they do with the course, it will be competitive. I'm glad to see the collective experience level going up with people getting out to multiple events. It makes the class a lot of fun.
The friendly rivalries are good too.

We love to cheer on the MINIs, laugh at the Corvettes (just because they are SO not made for auto-x), and be stunned by cars who look like they were rescued from the junkyard the day before.
