Is the BBQ open to all? I would love to meet Johnny and other MINI owners, and find a place to invest all of my extra money. So far my MINI is stock but I keep feeling this strong pull to mod !!!

Allow me too jump in real quick and say that I've now been going to Johnny's for over two years after reading a thread on NAM when I was looking for a place to do my pulley. I called Johnny and quickly decided on him to do the job for me after he told me he was a MCS owner. The pulley install was very professionally done. I have never regretted going to Johnny’s and have continued going back to him for the rest of my mods. These have included: exhaust, header, coil over lowering springs, complete brake upgrade, rear control arms, and a short shift kit. Again, all professionally installed and at good prices.

As I mentioned, Johnny is an MCS owner himself which is a great advantage for the likes of me as he has already experimented with installs on his own car before messing with mine

Johnny’s service has not stopped with just the installs. He has gone to bat for me when dealing with suppliers over warranty issues and has even contacted sources at dealerships for me to “arrange” for something to be done that might not have otherwise been covered due to warranty issues. A great help.

When you talk to Johnny about anything related to the MINI you will be amazed by his complete knowledge on all topics whether it’s mechanical or cosmetic.

Johnny has not asked me to post this on here for him but when I heard he was holding a pulley install party and bbq I just thought I should throw in my 2 cents worth. Just having a look-see at what he’s done with his latest project (his blk 05 MCS cabriolet) is worth the trip on it’s own. The only thing I’m pissed off at him for is scheduling it all while I’ll be away I guess I’ll just have to let the Hawaiian waters, cold beers and tropical drinks suffice. The rest of you should go and enjoy.

Ken

Is anyone going to Bimmer's Clinic on August 27 and 28 for Randy Webb's Install party? If you haven't check out this shop you should drop by. George has been working on BMWs (and Minis) for 30 years, his shop is immaculate and his work is awesome. He is as obsessive about his work and customer satisfaction as we are about our cars. Check out his yellow Mini on the Bimmer's Clinic website.

Decisions, decisions...

I'm a dedicated Steve's Auto Clinic guy...so I justified my commitment to Aug 27 by ordering up a pulley in the anticipation of seeing it installed by the master...And now, with such good things said about Johnny..what's a guy to do?!?!?!

Steve,

You couldn't go wrong with either Johnny's (Now "West Coast Mini") or Bimmer's Clinic. Both places have solid reputations with excellent and timely work, and both are strongly committed to the Mini! Sometimes it's a matter of geography in which site to choose. One thing that is rapidly becoming apparent is that there are a number of places in the metropolitan LA area that do quality work, and I'm sure we'll be hearing about many more. The SCMM Forum is starting to have a registry of aftermarket repair shops/tuners.

Good luck, and I'm sorry you missed our Palos Verdes excursion. Perhaps next time...

We will be in town the following week, something announced before the start of this event. We will also have Aesthetis Creations and Motor Swag out at the event to help with any swag or graphics.

Why Webb Motorsports? Well, we started this whole thing - the pulley install, the method, working on MINIs before there were a ton of them out there. We tested and developed at least half of the products currently on the market, which leads to the other big reason - first hand knowledge that spans the life of the new MINI. What that allows us to offer is a 2 year/24,000 mile warranty on our labor and parts - it is in writing here. We have done over 610 pulley installs, and have over 3000 happy MINI customers.

I'm sure Johnny does good work. I am not steering folks away from this event. Since our event was started first (I was in the LA area more than 2 years ago), and we have had 4 successful events in the SoCal area, I just wanted to be sure the options were on the table. This is a time for MINI folks to gather and see other cars, learn about their cars, and hear a VERY in depth tech talk (one that was mentioned in European Car).

Even if you have work done at the first event, conveniently held the week before the Webb Motorsports Pulley Party, please come out to see the event at Bimmer's Clinic. This is a top notch facility, and I only come out once a quarter to do tech talks and installs. There is plenty of business out there for everyone, and we all have worked hard to gain our customer bases (something I've been doing in the MINI community since the inception of the car).

Hope to see you all there (participants of both parties)!

I know what! More mods!

I've got an H-Sport front sway sitting around the house (was out of stock when I did the rear)...maybe I'll have to check out Johnny the week before...

Always looking for an excuse to mod...

Steve

Why would you deliberatly post in this thread if you are not trying to steer people away ?

I doubt you would aprecite someone doing the same to your thread ?

I did not get the impression that he was steering people away.

Either way, I will probably be at both.

I posted here because there were a couple people with questions about this.

Until now, I was the only one doing "Pulley Party" events, and because you called this event a pulley party, several people got the impression I was going to be in town for two weekends. I needed to clarify things.

Also, I am a NAM vendor who pays dues and has paid dues in the MINI community. I am not stirring anything, but if you look at this from my perspective, I don't think I am out of line here, especially with questions on the thread and phone calls I received to schedule themselves at Johnny's for me to do the work!

Hope that helps  .

Randy

For those of you interested in having your pulley installed by a local guy and meeting someone who can help you with your regular mainteance as well as install any mods you might need be sure you call Johnny.

If you are interested in haveing Randy install your pulley be sure you call him directly, the 2 are not connected in any way. And the dates are different.

Just as a side note how does the warantee work once Web motorsports is no longer in Los Angeles ? How are warantee claims handled on a service/install from another state? Just curious, does anyone know.

And no I am not trying to start anything I am genuinly curious, not for me but for those who are interested in the warantee.
