Aero Grill Install in SoCal
NAM-
I am new to the boards and this is my first post. I am getting my black 04 MCS/JCW next week and I am really stoked! It has been great to see all of the great mods that have been done to members cars...I especially like the aero grill install on the cars, but am really squeamish on doing the install myslef. Are there any experienced aero grill installers or tuners in SoCal that would be willing to do this job for hire or help me with the process. Thx in advance for your help...With the cools mods I have seen on NAM, I am on my way to a rear sway bar, whalen, short shift kit, maybe springs--but I am really looking for some help with the grill.
Best,
Matt

Hey Matt,
I too am in need of the same thing as you. I live in Socal too, and was hoping to find a way to put on the aero grilles. I have gone over the instructions many times, but they seem just pretty darn confusing. The top part is easy, but the bottom grille is another animal. Maybe someone around here who has done it, can show us the ropes

I like the look and I'm in the San Diego area BUT I'M WILLING TO DRIVE to get it done. (I drive an hour and a half just for a burger)

Let's get a group together and put them on.

You can get the aero grilles at Classic Auto Campus, a vendor here at NAM. Not sure about the product numbers, but if you do a search, I think that someone has posted those numbers here before. I think they are the cheapest place around. Yeah setting up a group install sounds like a great idea.
Cheers,
Ryan

Matt,
rfibanez was kind enough to invite people over to his house for the install, but unfortunatly, I can't attend this Sat because I have not gotten the grilles yet. I think that you said you are getting your car next week, so you probably can't do it this Sat either. So yeah we should set up another get together in a few weeks or so with someone that knows what the heack they are doing

I also want to do this mod, but haven't ordered the grill yet. but would be interested in joining for S&G. This sunday there is a run from San Marcos to San Diego with the West Coast Mini Club. We are meeting at Hometown Buffet at 8:00 if you want to join. address is 288 Rancheros Dr San Marcos. P.M. me for more info. Also so in Jan SCMM is going to the track. I went to the last one and it was great. Matt from seeing what you want to do to your car you should think about joining. Also anyone else. These are great track events and you can really learn what your MINI can do.
Thx to all of you for the invites and kind words...I am really looking forward to getting the mini and am letting go of a heavily modded (Brabus/AMG)Mercedes G-Wagen in the process...It was fun as well, but the boards and the enthusiast groups were lame and kinda snotty...I appreciate the good vibes here...The mini is coming from mini of the hamptons--the jcw kit is being installed now and I just ordered stilauto rims from edge racing...I was really lose to doing the r90's, but saw a blk SL this week with anthracite rims and thought I would give it a go...they were super reasonable, little over $100/a piece...thx again,
matt
