I don't know why it's taken me so long to post this...I work across from the OC airport on MacArthur Court in one of the large (15 floor) white buildings. There is a Silver MCS parked on the 4th floor, always there early and leaves late. That's a good way to avoid traffic and have more fun driving! I have also noticed several others in the same parking structurs as well as a Yellow MCS, black stipes, acoss the street.

 

This morning on the way to work . . .
Silk Green/Black southbound on 605 just before the 91 cloverleaf.
It had two big time dings on driver's side door.

 

You San Diegans have MINI's everywhere. On Sunday (1-9) I saw three in the IKEA parking lot alone. DS/B MCS, DS MCC, and CR/W MC. Also saw an IB MCS at In-N-Out off of Rosecrans, LY MCC at Point Loma and a couple others while cruising around the airport, I-8, I-5 area. It was a nice change of pace. Unfortunately I was in the wife's nondescript silver Honda Accord. I must go back in my Cooper soon.

There were lots of MINIs out on Sunday. In the morning, I saw a CR with red wheels in the Sports Arena area, a LY/W around Mission Hills, a Silk Green/W in the Uptown parking garage, and a LY/W in the same garage (maybe the same LY I saw a few minutes earlier). And my PW/B was in the Ikea parking lot that afternoon (near Lowe's)! I don't remember seeing any Accords though. What do they look like again?

 

My PS/B MC was in the costco Parking Lot. There sure are alot of mini's in San Diego!

 

got a wave from a blue MCS with bonnet stripes sitting at the light at Paxton and San Fernando Rd. in Pacoima today. Nice ride.

EB/W (white bonnet stripes), southbound on 405 through Long Beach, south of Cherry Ave.
Don't know if you saw me wave through my rear window since it's still filthy from past rains, etc. Lost sight of you in my rear view around Palos Verdes exit.

 

New PS/B S with Assael paper plates going east on highway 74 turned north on California St. Are in the area? Or just passing through? Exchanged waves and smiles!

Saw a very friendly PW/B MC this morning on 805 North. A brand new 05 twin to my 04 PW/B MCS, bonnet stripes and all. Driver definitely seemed to be enjoying herself - motor on!

 

A trio of MINIs getting onto 163 from Washington around 8:30 this morning. All-black MC was at the front of the line, then my PW/B MCS was about 3 cars back, and their was a DS MCS behind me.

And saw a classic Mini on Park Blvd around 11 yesterday morning. Looked kinda like silk green with white roof.

 

I was heading home to Long Beach and I saw the sweetest smile, it was LeeAnn!! Then I was on a call in Irivine and I saw Diablito, (not sure the exact plate) left him a post it to say hello, then this morning I was driving with two other minis and NOT ONE wave or acknowledgement!!! Then last week driving through the 110 I almost cried in envy, I saw for the first time ever a BRG cabrio with a BRG top! and an "S" to boot! No wave, but my jealousy probably would have mistakenly sent the finger back LOL I'm just teasing. It was beautiful!

Saw a PW MCS cruising up Torrey Pines a little after 10 this morning. We were on our bikes so I thought a wave would not be seen.

 

This afternoon, rush hour . . .

Chili Red/W MCSc (top closed) northbound on 605 just before Imperial highway. No plates.
I honked and waved but my lane was actually crawling faster.

 

Saw a couple on a little trip up around Julian on Saturday afternoon. A CR cabrio with the top down on 78 leaving Ramona as I was heading in, a DS MCS on S1 and a BRG Cabrio with the "sunroof" open heading west on I-8 as I was heading east.

Nice afternoon up there, only one traffic problem - other than that there was no one in front of me for about 2 hours!

I ran into the MINI's high beam flaw again, though. I flashed the DS, and then noticed that my high beams were still on! I liked it better on my VW where you could pull the stalk back to flash, but push forward to turn them on.

 

A pod of MINIs in Encinitas this morning. DS MCS, IB/W with a rack, CR/W with a single stripe, MC40, and a PW/B.

 

A couple weeks ago I saw two very pretty girls in a Purple Haze cabrio at Fashion Island.

And they waved

 

Several times a week I see an EB/BLK at Greenfield/Second around 6:45am. I am the w/b PS/PS, with the honk and the wave!!!

 

Black/Black MC(s)C. In the center divider with a mashed rear bumper. Hope all is OK.

 

Saw a Chili Red/Blk Roof (I think) Cooper in Marina Del Rey tonight. It was rainy, and I was turning right while you were turning left, and I caught you at the last second waving wildly at me! I waved back, but don't know if you saw me! I don't get many waves anymore, so you surprised me!

Recently falling in love with the Mini's. Not sure what triggered it *cough* mid life crisis *cough*, but really like them.

Saw a red/ white MCS with fog lights coming down I-15 south yesterday around Carmel Mountain. Very cool.

BTW- I was in the 4Runner with the "supercharged" sticker on the back window. Gotta love S/C's. :D

Oh man! I think that's probably the same cabrio I've seen in Del Mar a couple times. It was a beauty, hopefully it will be again.

 

Spotted Technomage on Sepulveda today after my shopping trip at ToysRUs with my wife and son! He flew by waving (I think, or was it a flag I saw??) as I waited at the stoplight near Jack in the box. I waved back but it was dark!

 

I just saw a dark blue w/ black MC with Pep Boys type SPINNERS in Monrovia!
Spinners are bad enough, but Pep Boys spinners have taken ugly to an entirely new level.
