MINI Meet in SoCal!

I would like to make a mini meet in socal and wanted to gauge intrest and go from there! Who would be intrested? I live just east of downtown LA where the 60fwy and 605fwy meet but will be willing to organize it in an area best for others...

SoCal MINI Maniacs wants you!

I'm down the freeway from you where 105 meets 605.

Ever heard of SCMM?
Lots of activities and opportunities to hook up with other owners.

Oh, and did you know there's a SoCal Forums section here on NAM?

Great! Sounds like an excellent idea! I'm in Long Beach but can drive anywhere (within reason...). Count me in.

Hey Shutterbug, did you know there's a big group that meets at the Ruby's on PCH and 2nd Street every second Saturday of each month?
Meet at 8:30 so you can chat and check out the MINIs. Breakfast is at 9am.

I suggest we all go go-kart riding to keep with the spirit of great handling! Imagine a ton of MINIs parked outside the place .. that'd be awesome!

A lot of the activities you guys are mentioning are already happening. Karting, twistie runs, etc. are all a part of the MINI organization I am a member of.

We have a menu of events to choose from every month. Every week there is at least one get-together. Our (over 600) members can elect to attend any or all events.

Click on the SCMM link in my sig to find out more.

while your determination to spread the word of SCMM is appreciated, some of us may not want to participate in SCMM events. im not saying myself in particular, just letting you know that not everyone is into that club as some are not inclined to attend other club events.

i only make this statement because youve posted 3 times in this thread that SCMM has events. while appreciated, it's a bit overkill when there have only been 14 posts total

Yeah, I'd like to meet up and hang out with people around my age (college) more than the older MINI crowd not because I'm an ageist, but because they're just more fun and younger.

No problemo, I have kids and remember all the "Aw-dad-we-wanna-hang-out-with-people-our-age" times.

Then again, we "old" folks have our moments when we'd rather be around our peers also 'cause we've experienced so much (i.e. life's punches, driving, relationships, etc.).

But there are also times when we all can come together as community or familia. (and I use the Spanish word because it holds so much more strength for me) I think of memorable times. Weddings. Funerals. Graduations. We elders would never think of excluding the squirts.

Anyway. With over 600 members spread out through the Central Valley down to San Diego, SCMM cannot statistically be composed of MINI owners the same age. We welcome MINIacs of all ages.

I'm the Inland Empire guy for the SCMM Club on @-17 we will meet for lunch at Heroes in Claremont and then run Glendora Ridge. You are welcome to come.

I also am having a SUPERBOWL party which is always open to MINI drivers, there will be a run a noon before the party starts.

I would love to come to this run. However , there is autox down in SD on the 17th.

There is another Los Angeles rally happening around march I belive. We should make this a week or two after all this rain ends and meet up for a long nice drive and some food afterwords. Lets Make things happen and come up with a date and route and etc.

Seriously though, I'd love to meet MINI owners of all ages. The one thing I love about the MINI Cooper is seeing and waving at people--young and old. I think I may very well keep my MINI forever.

The more the marrier! We should have a super-meet where all the socal clubs and as many mini owners hang out and show off their rides and network!
