New Austin member/lurker
Just sayin' hello. Becoming a fan of the Cooper S. I currently own two modded subarus, but wouldn't mind owning a mini one day. So it's off to searching and lurking for me...I know nothing about the car other than the basics....also, if anyone in the austin area has a modded S, I would love a chance to check out your setup....maybe trade test drives with my legacyGT ?

yeah right, and with 55 state troopers behind us. (neither the original poster or ScuderiaMini performs or encourages street racing or speeding over speed limits)

Austin MINI owner's had their first meet here on the January 28th. There is a website, but there has not been very much traffic on it lately. www.austinmini.org

I'm here in Austin as well....waiting for my MCS Cabrio to arrive in a few weeks.
Mine won't have any mods to start with...I'm planning to run some G-Stock AutoX, so apart from some good AutoX wheels/tires, it'll be pretty light on the mods. Plus I have 1200 miles of breaking-in to do before it's really up to a spirited test drive.
One option if you want to test-drive a stock MCS without having to go all the way to San Antonio is to check out Autostrada on Lamar Blvd. They typically have a few recent-vintage MINIs in stock, usually including an S. While you're there, you can drool on a new Lotus, too.
Nice to see some fellow Austinites (and future Austinites) here. We'll have to meet up and motor soon.
