I sense the end of my time at my current job is quickly approaching. I'm in the hunt for a new job. Since many of you here on NAM are technical in nature, I figured it'd be nice to network with people at a place I spend much of my time.

For the last three years I've been doing HTML, ASP, MS SQL Server, Visual Basic, and javascripting and handle customizations of a CRM called SalesLogix. I also have a BS in Computer Information Systems. I'm basically your Information Systems guru. Let me know if your company has any positions I might be able to fill. I can get you my complete resume upon request.

Thanks,
Dominic

Dom, best of luck to you buddy!

Have you considered working for yourself?

I'll keep my eyes/ears open if anything comes up....if I had more work, I'd definitely contract you out.

Thanks all! I appreciate it.

Haf, I'd be willing to pick up some contract work. BTW, I hope you're feeling better, too. I'm just not in a position to go completely out on my own yet. I like the comforts of working for someone else right at this stage in my life.

Dominic Send me your resume asap I can give it to my IT manager. We currently use Saleslogix and it's a terrible setup (maybe you could fix it)

dominic,
I'm in the same field, I'm my company's .net guru. Before deciding to keep my LA job and move to phoenix, I was looking for work there. I was approached by a company called Immedient. They have an office in Scottsdale, check them out.

Check out the Developing Web Applications with C# MCAD Study book. Great preparation for the test, but also a very good introductory book with many examples.

Doesn't seem like .net has been around for that long, but I've been working with it before it was even in beta. My last company was on an industry advisory panel for .net, and we got to develop showcase applications for MSDN.

I also got to speak at Dev Days 2001 and a few more smaller MSDN sessions about Web Services and SOAP.

If you have any .net questions, fire me off an email at gdurzi@hotmail.com.

I'm going to need a lot of luck in a job industry where IT/IS people like myself are a dime a dozen.
The outlook is actually not that gloomy. InformationWeek shows statistics that while software engineering jobs are declining, people with solid .net experience are getting more and more jobs.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of unskilled people they have to sift through. Not many people actually have solid .net production environment experience.
