November 8th,2003 Taste, Tunes and Motoring
Ok here is my first event. Dominic makes this look easy so here goes.
Estrella Mountain Ranch, the West Valley Fine Arts council, and the City of Goodyear, present: Taste & Tunes on Saturday, at the North Lake amphitheater. Experience an international selection of food and wine and enjoy the lakeside music festival. Music acts include The Scones, Sistah Blue, Turning Point, Carvin Jones Band, and headliner act, the Gin Blossoms. Gates open at 1pm with The Scones taking the stage at 2pm.
No coolers or food may be brought in to the event. There is food and drink available inside the event but probably at a premium price.
This is great event for both Classic and New Mini Owners who love open air concerts. If you are familar with the bands you will know that this will be a very enjoyable event. There is food and drink available inside the event but probably at a premium price.
I am planning to have a get together at the South Lake Pavillion for a pre picnic meet and greet @10am. I am looking for suggestion, help and/or volunteers for this. Then motoring over to the North Lake amphitheater together @ 1pm. (aprox. 2 miles) WVFAC will provide a cordoned off seating area . You should plan on bringing a low chair or blanket since this is an grassy open air venue. Also Plan on bringing jackets or sweaters for the temps can drop after sunset this time of year.
WVFAC has asked that AMO provide two cars to be displayed inside the event. I am looking for volunteers to have their car on display. I need one classic and one new Mini to properly represent the club. At this time this nothing more than a static display. The cars will need to be brought in early in the morning. At this time their will be no way to retrieve the car until the event is over. If you wish to volunteer your car and don't want to remain until its over I can make arrangements to retrieve the car and have you pick it the following day.
I have secured a deal with WVFAC to be able to purchase adult pre-sale tickets for $15, ($20 to the general public) and children's, (11-16) pre-sale tickets for $7.50, ($10 to the general public). All tickets with this discount will need to be purchased together and prior to the festival. Ticket deadline will be November 1st. Make checks payabel to West Valley Fine Arts Council. Please don't send cash. The cost of the tickets may be tax deductable.

Just an update on things happening.
So far I have the cars lined up for the static booth.
I've been told the club has banners, signs and things already made that we can use.
I have a photographer friend lined for taking pictures at the South Lake. He uses real film so it would be a great oppurtinity for poster quality shots of your Mini.

Hi Todd, I know Bill's currently working on the exact directions. There's been some road work in the area and he wanted to wait until as late as possible to help insure his directions are as current as possible. Stay tuned!
