Although it's against my better judgement, i was wondering if anyone from the RDU area would be motoring up for the August 8 Flow Rally? Bummed that I can't make this weekend's trip, I wanna do at least one, and since the flow one is a little closer I'm going to go on at least do the drive! If anyone from the RDU area wants to motor up with me lemme know! Maybe we can get a nice little group together!

Well, I'll be coming from the West, but I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there. I was at Flow today, and they said they have 80 MINIs signed up so far!!

He is in the Raleigh area and wants to Caravan out.
No meeting place has been determined, wanted to see where others would be coming from.

Don't worry, I found out last night that I have relatives coming in that weekend, so I can't make that one either! I'm glad I decided to go on the one for this weekend that Melinadlou organized. Bummer, this means that I can't even help you move even if there wasn't a MINI event! Oh well! Glad you were able to find a place!

Just a reminder about the Flow MINI rally on Sunday, August 8. The RSVP deadline has passed, but I'm told that if you RSVP Lee Davis at Flow -- (336) 788-3333 -- there might still be room for a few more MINIs.

 

An estimated 140 MINIs were at Flow before we motored up to VIR. An (semi)aerial photo was taken there at VIR and I counted about 90. This was late in the day and we'd seen a bunch of folks heading out before the photo was taken. I'm going to contact Lee to see about getting a copy of the photo.

Had a blast, though the races were shuffled and we missed seeing Brad Davis drive the MCS in the race.

I didn't stay for the parade lap around the track. Kinda wish I had, but had a long trip ahead of us and took an early leave. Heck, I'll spend the $150 in the near future and hit the track hard.

Wish I could have gone, too! By the look of the pics, it was a lotta fun..

 

I enjoyed this rally more than the last one up to Pilot Mountain. While the scenery was better at the mountain, it was less of a hassle. We had a lot more space between the cars and didn't have to worry about hitting the car in front of us all the time.

Too bad we missed the MCS in the race. He started on the pole, blew a tire and finished somewhere back around 11th. :(
