I was wondering and this may have been asked before but why can't you make your own avatar like you can on the other site?? The signature can be customized but you have to choose the avatar's that are on the menu. Just wondering.... :???:

Sorry for the delay in answering this question...last week was little crazy

Custom avatars are something that the current version of software used in the forums doesn't support. That said I have been working on a migration to another forum system that does allow this. I'll be working on this more this week with hopefully a cutover in June to the new software. I'll post more information once I have a better understanding of what will be required to make the transition as seamless as possible. Stay tuned...

Mark

Any word on how the custom avatar thing is coming? It's been a while since the last post here.

When this question was first asked, we hadn't migrated the site over to vB. Now that we're here it's a lot easier enable this. That said, custom avatars will be rolled out as part of a package of changes. Some of the other improvements require development, so that is what is causing the delay. Honestly, some of those changes have just taken a back seat to other site development (such as the Dragon information and registration area).

It seems that it might be available now? While updating info, I noticed this language under the Avatar portion:

Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it.

Maybe it's just in the works, and this wording is just a bit premature...

TonyB,
I'm trying to upload a custom avatar, but it doesn't seem to be working. Like you said, it looks like there should be one there since the wording is there, there just isn't an 'upload' button or anything of the sort. Oh well, I guess i'll just go with the no avatar look until it is enabled....

Not that this is super important, but can we have an update?
Thanks

Well, probably sometime late this summer, but honestly there are just other things higher on the priority list (dealer rating system).
