I have a suggestion for your web site. It seems to me that a lot of people on your website use it for self promotion. What would be good in my opinion is that MINICooperOnline setup a forum for business owners only. Do not let people that have businesses promote themselves in the MINICooperOnline general forums areas. This is something that should not be allowed. Business owners should should have their on forums to promote themselves. Please setup a forum for business owners so they can communicate to persons on MINICooperONline with full knowledge who they are.
Thanks for your considerations in this matter.

Interesting point, but i respectfully disagree.

There are many people on this site that offer in depth, detailed , quantatative information that helps all of us in one way or another... to make educated, informed decisons regarding the MINI 's we own and love.
Our members represent a combination of business owners, enthusiasts, and newbee's who together as a whole make this site ...a wonderful place to visit and outstanding island of information and friendship..

It is what it is....and I for one...like it

Peace,
D

MINI Cooper Online would not exist if there were not such a great group of business owners that support this site financially so that you can enjoy the forums free of charge.

These sponsors are the ones that are working so hard to develop top notch products for our MINI's, and I prefer to support small businesses owned by friends who are active and supportive of the MINI scene.

Plus, this handful of top notch vendors sell basically everything I could possibly want for my MINI, so this site is a "One Stop Shop" for nearly everything MINI!

Go ahead and click on a banner ad if you have not checked out some of the vendor sites! If only I had the $$$$ to order everything I desire!

Free Plug:

I just checked out Alta MINI Performance (had not gone to their site yet) and saw a really great looking intercooler sprayer! Got to have that when summer comes here in Alabama!

Heat-Soak makes Yucca sad!

D has said the very words I was about to point out. MCO is a springboard of knowledge. Everyone who posts with a point of view, review, comment or just plain fun statement should have the right to do so. I have seen no blatant advertising. When I start getting pop-ups on threads I will complain.

I'm sure 2minis will see if he can do some pop-ups about now.

As far as I know all of us vendors are paying or they are promptly asked to leave. Please notify us of the ones who are not.... I think it is helpful for a sponsor to make comments in various forums. Just look at all the points Randy has made all over this deal.

Also I just got my oilanalysis back from Oil Analyzers and will post that info in "Under the Bonnet". If anyone has a problem with this please let me know. The point I will be making will answer a lot of questions.

Charles,
Thanks for your feedback. In the creation of MCO I wanted to provide an environment for everything MINI in North America. As such we've welcomed MINI-related businesses into the site. We have also encouraged them to interact with everyone in the forums and share the information that they have developed in bringing products and services to market. That said, we will be providing guidelines to our advertisers in the next couple of weeks on the best way to interact in the forums without overpromoting themselves. We have also created a "Vendor Announcement" forum that enables companies that advertise on the site to provide information about themselves, the products and services, etc. I am firm believer in that businesses should develop a reputation and that will lead to a successful business.

That said, if you do find companies self-promoting themselves aggressively or there are companies that are advertising/promoting without being a sponsor of the site please let me know as I will follow up with them personally.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Mark
