Dealer Ratings...?

Am I just missing them? I'm sorry... I know the answer is probably right in front of my face, but the new look has me all off-kilter, if you know what I mean. Almost like I don't know where to look... my surroundings are unfamiliar.... I can't find my way....

Please help?

If things you are looking for are not in the top menu box ,I think that means

see this post.

The dealer rating system needs to be converted a bit, but it will be brought back.

Hey,
What's the latest on the "Dealer Ratings" being up and running? Know mark is working hard on it, how about an update.
Thanks

The update is that I have to rebuild the system from the ground up in order to integrate it into the site . That said as I rebuild it I'm going to include some new features to improve its use. Thanks for your patience while I get a couple of other tasks out of the way before I can get the ratings migrated.

Yes OmToast,
Your post was on 06-15-2004,
Just thought I would make a post before the month rolled around. Hey, where is the Dealer Ratings system? If it seems I'm kicking your butt, maybe I am. It is 08-31-2004 you know.

Charles,

Mark has been very busy with the new gallery software. We expect rollout of that within the next couple days. After that, the Dealer Rating System is next up for redesign and development.

And to throw my 2 cents into the discussion on the Dealer Rating System...

As I've said before the new software platform requires a complete rewrite. Also, since the site software is new I have to learn how it is organized and how it functions in order to properly integrate with it. Furthermore I have numerous projects underway, vendors to work with, and a family to support. Everything takes time to address...usually longer than I would like. Being gone for two months this summer didn't speed things up either...but I needed time away with just my family.

The rating system will return and will be much better than it was previously. Your patience is appreciated.

Dave,
Thanks for reminding me, I forgot the gallery was gone (where in the hell is the gallery?) Just kidding, if I knew how to write code, would in there kicking butt for NAM. Thanks for all the hard work and a great site for MINI owners. Now back to the post - where is the Dealer Rating System?
Charles
P.S.
Thanks for making all your posts pithy (if you don't know what pithy means look it up).
Edit:
Seems two people can type at the same time, first post is who hits the post button first. Mark, as I said thanks for the hard work and you have my patience's, what you will do with it I don't know and don't take that the wrong way. Thanks again, I was trying to write this before Sept. got here

OmToast,
Thanks for posting this thread, I too wonder, just where the Dealer Rating System has gone? Well, this thread has laid dormant way to long. Would the powers that prevail, please, say a word or two about the subject. It has been long and the NAM members have been patient! Don't make excuses, the members know you have a family and a life but, if NAM has become a source of income for your family, maybe NAM is your family too, just explain and tell NAM members what is going on? No one is going to complain, we would just like to be informed. Thanks
Charles

Mark, I'm not trying to kick your butt, just trying to remind you of some things that are important to NAM members. :-)

The truth is I've been busy with multiple projects...trying to get the store migrated to a new version of software to support a new program I'm putting in place, working on the dealer rating system, sciene projects with my kids, and a number of other projects that my sleep-deprived brain can't remember at this point in time.

To date I've been rewriting and rearchitecting the rating system to handle a lot of new features that I've been wanting to implement for some time. I've gotten most of the back end administration pieces developed (and data migrated from the old system) and will be working on the member-facing side over the next couple of weeks. One element that has taken a fair amount of time is how to build this like a real module for the forum system as I'd like to be able to include functionality on other sites I work on.

As always, thanks for your patience while I work as fast as I can

Mark

Dealer Rating System

I was looking for this today to see if vendors had been mentioned in Dealer Rating System to make a suggestion. I knew it was here some where.
Okay, I haven't totaly lost it . I found this thread and see it's underconstruction.

Yes...the original dealer rating system (MINI dealers only) was built on our old system software. With the new software we migrated to in June I've had to juggle rebuilding it from scratch along with working on several other site-related projects. That said I will have an update on this later in the month along with some new areas of the site.

Sure appreciate the work you are putting into this website, and hope the dealer ratings come back soon.

I have many rockpiles....and never is any one of the completely moved

The rating system is one of these piles and it will get completed...its just a matter of keeping rocks from other piles out of the way. As the only developer I sometimes get interrupted with other site related business...for some reason this always delays everything

why not just a dealer feedback forum area?

mark,

if the automated rating system is a pain/too much work, why not just start a dedicated dealer feedback forum area?

i have really good feedback to post about a dealer!!

i offer to be a moderator for that forum....

DEALER RATINGS: Bring them back now !

Mark,
It's been nine months or more since the Dealer Ratings have been gone. Please make it a priority to return them. It was one of the major features of the site before you revised it and left them out.

The longer they are gone, the more folks will end up going to dealers that provide poor service---both in the showroom and in the service bays---and then wonder what hit them after it's over!

Please listen to some of the suggestions about having two areas to comment on: sales and service/repair. Forum readers shouldn't have to do a search of the site just to find mention of a dealer for good and bad comments.

While I recognize that it's important to make this site a profitable venture , enlisting dealers such as Classic, MINI of the Hamptons, MINI of Pittsburg, and Dryer & Reynolds in IN as sponsors, don't forget that it's the members that make this site successful.

Please, bring back the Deal Ratings sooner than later.

Charlie

Whoa now, calm it down a bit

The guy is doing everything he can, I'm sure, no need to pick on Mark for all this, he is taking time out of his busy schedule to help the community out as it is. Certainly no need to place any demand on the guy, he currently seems to be quite busy keeping the site up, monitoring usage, adding new exciting features, all without asking anything of the rest of us.

Personally, I think the man should be sainted.

Well, maybe not sainted, but at least offered a bit more recognition.
