Can we please require sellers to list where they're selling the item from since the distance calculator doesn't work. The distance is always waaaay off, and its pretty annoying.

 

Any chance we could fix the distance calculator?

 

Can you PM me a link to an ad that's doing it? The system is setup that it should be required. And it was during my little bit of testing it.

I know the system is basing the locations off of a 3rd party zip code reference list that we have no control over, and if that distance is inaccurate then there really isn't much recourse that we have.

 

It does require that you enter a zip, but the miles between the two zips are always inaccurate. Im saying you should require the seller to put in a city / state so we can all see it, not just miles away (since it doesn't work).

 

Well allowing entering in of the city and state can lead to being just as useless for shipping as the state of mind location posts, I will check into having the zip code display a city/state field though, to allow people to check on the distance calculation.

 

That would be great, I could always enter the two zips / city, states into google maps and get my own calculation thats accurate.

It always sucks missing out on a great deal in marketplace because you have no idea if the large item is close by or not.... by the time they get back to you about the location, there's 5 people in line already.

 

It would be nice if location was a requirement.

 

I live in Ohio and it is fairly accurate for most locations, BUT it also always tells me that places in Florida are like 100 to 200 miles away. Something strange about Florida?
