whew .....I just read this whole thing. Should I mention that I have an Alta CAI with a K&N filter? (actually I took it off at the beginning of the summer and never switched it back.)I did the switch originally because I didn't like the noise, but since putting in a cat back, it doesn't seem to bother me any more. some time soon I'm going to get my car dyno tuned for the unichip I just put in and maybe , just maybe, I'll do my own test between the 2 and maybe I'll post the results and maybe I won't.
I'd still like to see the results of the original shootout sometime......

Cliff notes:

M7 AGS was hyped to beat all other intakes on the market, yet the manufacturer provided no data to back that up. An M7 fan (MSFITOY) organized a shootout between the stock, Alta, Pilo, and M7 intakes.
The result was the Alta beating the M7. Since this wasn't the desired result, another shootout was organized by a group with close ties to M7 and which contained most of the vocal M7 fans (TMMZ), with the shootout also being a tool to redirect traffic from NAM to the TMMZ site.

It's not clear at this point whether they obtained the desired results (M7 coming out on top), but we may never know due to the explosion of TMMZ and subsequent mass exodus of its members to a new site that may or may not be allowed to "publish" the data now, since it may still belong to TMMZ.

DRAMA! As to the Mass Exodus, what a fickle bunch this car seems to attract! Andy, I've always subscribed to your "show me the numbers" mentality. I think I'll just stand back and watch this unfold, it's better entertainment than the WWF ( not that that's so all fired entertaining)

Here's the plain truth. I'm sure this will earn me no friends, I will probably lose some, but I'm sick of this. I am very disappointed that some of my friends and those people who I trusted have chosen to keep our good name in limbo over petty differences.

The results are ready, the article is written, but it seems that the people in possession of the dyno graphs are keeping them to themselves in an effort to stave off publishing/try to publish themselves [they know well that the results cannot be published without the huge body of data which we had all planned to include, including dyno runs and all]. Of course, no one is talking to me [and I was ON the team]. This is ridiculous.

Perhaps in so hanging myself some movement will be made, because right now it is looking like they're headed to court over it. TO COURT!

Little teaser, for which I have no permission, but @$!@# #$:
The AGS made more power. Twice as much. On average. There, it's done. I will be getting one as soon as I can get permission from the majority shareholders in my car, and when I do so. Either way, I'm moving on with my life.

 

I heard the Alta made four times as much power as the AGS but I don't have any evidence to back that up either. Wait, six times as much! Yeah, that's the ticket!

I'm not saying anything more to Andy. I may and might already have said more to other people who will actually care about the results. Life is too short. I'm going out now to get some sun and enjoy my Sunday. I encourage all to do the same. Life is too short to wait around bickering about things just for the sake of it. I'm done with trying to contribute to this.
