I would love to go, but, I don't think I can make the 1500 mile journey again in the Mini like I did in 2005. Last season I flew in and drove Grant Barclay's car. If he doesn't go back, I'm really going to miss it bigtime since I have been there for the last 2 SD events. The bad thing is, I am actually working in SD right now and will be through February, so, its gonna hurt if I don't happen to make it. :-(
Anyway, if anyone wants a co-drive, I can contribute in whatever is fair plus an extra 10% for good measure. Plus, I will be glad to help tune any GS/HS car in the warmup event to get it dialed in a bit. :-) I'd also be glad to give any setup info as well if anyone is interested and needs input or is having issues with handling, etc.... PM me with any offers for San Diego, I'm all ears. :-))) Also, I'd fly into Atwater as well if anyone wanted to attend that event and needed a co-drive.

If my memory serves me correctly, the last 2 years, they posted the contingency on the 20th or so of January. I emailed them each of the past 2 years asking them before I picked up my cars at the dealer. The contingency plan will greatly affect if I continue owning a Mini or not, so, I hope they do offer it again. I was actually contemplating the purchase of an 07, but, I'll wait until they release the plan to "really" consider the new purchase.
Anyway, I am PM'ing you as we speak. :-)

I'm going to be flying out from Missouri and co-driving with James(Hey thanks James!), so, the least you Socal guys can do is drive a few minutes to the Q and see what your Mini's can do.
Hey Dave,
I don't have R-compund tires and am still just starting out, but should I think about competing in this one? If it's inside our backyard, maybe I should consider it. Anyone know of a cheap hotel over @ hotel circle?

xbook,
It's never to soon to start. I did a NT as a seventh event and haven't looked back since. There is always somebody faster out there then you but the experience you gain is priceless.
Log onto SCCA.com and goto SOLO, then lodging.
Knights Inn San Diego South $57
Point Loma Inn & Suites $70
Super 8 Mission Valley/Qualcomm $89
Days Inn Mission Valley $80
Lafayette Hotel San Diego $75
There are a bunch more. All of those are within 2.5 miles of Quailicom.

Definitely come out and have a blast with us, you can feed off of the more experienced competitors as well.
I wonder what it would take to get the GSL competitor to jump into GS to give all of us Mini owners a shot at some contingency with a full class. :-) I'd be willing to pay for her entry fee, otherwise, you might see my wife running the Alamo G6 that we discussed earlier in this post. I just want to see one of us have a shot at it, it adds a bit of excitement to the element. ;-)
Now on MotoringFile: San Diego Tour Results
Briefly though:
Craig (OasisT) dominated G-Stock.
Mindi also drove in GS, not GSL, so they got their 5th for contingency.
Mark Ferguson (NAM Founder) took 2nd on H-Stock.
Don Green (a SoCal local) took 3rd. After a poor start on Saturday (was 8th in the standings at the end of day one, nearly a full second out of 7th), I wound up rallying and took 5th.
Gary started off well on Saturday, but then seemed to have my poor experience transfered over to him on Sunday to finish 8th.
