woot!

predictions on index based on this?? didn't they not bump us down that much based on the assumption that the fiesta st would be the car to have, and that it would be faster than the mini?

The indices are supposedly based on national-level results so no matter what the assumption behind the original street class estimates were, they should be set straight by actual performances when revised for 2016. Historically, I've felt that HS was soft because drivers who win it tend to move up to faster cars. Reno may be proving the exception to that.

Good point - though Reno has won for the last 4-5 years straight now

In all fairness it's sort of a double edged sword. While one Mini beat four Fiesta's, four Fiesta's beat two Mini's.

MINI has won h stock/h street for 12 of the last 13 years including the last eight. Last year there were 12 MINIs and three others cars entered. This year there were 18 Ford Fiesta STs and nine other cars entered including just four MINIs. The Fiesta was thought to be the obvious car to have with 197 horsepower versus the MINI's 118. Reno's win was a surprising result, hence the dramatic thread title.
