B-Stock no more!

http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/Fil...full-final.pdf

check out page 20, looks like the works car is being moved to DS, along with the regular cooper S. Does this apply to only factory works cars, or are dealer installed works cars eligible for stock class as well. Also, are 17" wheels a requirement to run in stock class for a works car?

17's are required. Dealer installed kits on 06 only would be legal, and, the complete conversion with brakes is required to be legal. Basically, you can convert any non-JCW 2006 MCS to a JCW and be legal but the entire package has to be done, unlike the dealer conversion(so, basically a dealer conversion plus brakes).

However, this is definitely far from done since its simply out for member comment.

If they do this, they will surely ruin DS for the integra's and BMW's and it would basically create GS as a class with a bunch of less appealing Heck, HS would be right on GS's heals if this goes through.

Would this affect an 06 JCW with aftermarket rear swaybar from running STX?

I am all for getting the JCW out of B-Stock. It doesn't belong there. BS PAX is killing me on the course. I wonder why CS wasn't considered or proposed?

SOLO STOCK CATEGORY
· The following class change proposals are submitted for member review:
o Move the listings for the variants of the Mini Cooper S which are currently in G Stock to D Stock.
o Move the listing for the Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works package which is currently in B Stock to D Stock.
· The following new class listing is proposed and submitted here for member review:
o Mini Cooper S Works GP package: DS

· After reviewing member feedback, the SEB and SAC are recommending the following previously-published rule change proposal
to the BOD:
ITEM 1) Change 13.10.E to read as follows:
“E. Any part of the exhaust system beyond (downstream from) the header/manifold or catalytic converter, if so equipped, may be
substituted provided the system meets the requirements of 3.5. Stainless steel heat exchangers are permitted only if the physical
dimensions and configuration remain unchanged. Modifications of any type, including additions to or removal of, the catalytic
converters, thermal reactors, or any other pollution control devices in the exhaust system are not allowed and the system must
be operable. Replacement catalytic converters must be OE.”

The proposed changes are for "stock" classes only. You can still run STX and DSP. Sway bars are free in STX.

It will have an affect on the PAX in those classes though.

Was the JCW kit only a dealer option pre -06? Why couldn't you convert an 05 JCW?

The 06 JCW was the only FACTORY JCW as far as SCCA is concerned. Prior to that, the JCW bits were added by the dealer when the car came in.

Does anyone know when the stock categories for 2008 become finalized and public?

Well, you have to remember that the stock classes are not just defined by performance, its also the body style etc.

I dont remember all of the rules, but I do remember CS is only for two-seaters...(Miata, MR2, etc.)

I wonder why chassis isn't considered. The Mini is the only FWD in BS.
