RSR on pole !!!!
Way to go guys!!!
On pole, what an accomplishment.
Only 1 second separates 1st through 10th place. That's a pretty tight field. You have done all of us MINI owners proud.
Good luck tomorrow. We'll all be pulling for you.

On the Pole !
1st time ever for a Mini on the pole at a Grand Am race. We are obviously VERY excited. It was also our 1st time through tech inspection which we passed with flying colors.
It was truly a team effort. Special thanks to Tim and Frank for the setup and to the entire crew for the hard work and extra effort. And of course, to Owen who piloted the car.
A extra special pat on the back to Mark (and to me, for that matter!) for being team players. We left pit lane for the Q session as a 'threesome'. Mark and I set up a 'wall' that gave Owen the space he needed to run the two flier laps that netted him the pole. Mark and I got wrapped up in the pack and were unable to get any flier laps of our own.
This race will be televised on June 28 @ 2pm ET on Speed.
The Race starts on Sunday at 12:45 and will be live at :

13,19 & 27th . . . . 47 starters.
Our streak of bad luck continues. The 196 was the class of the field . . . read the 'Speed Channel' report above. The rains came and we made the decision to stay on slicks. The rain looked like it was over, but it poured.
You will be able to watch the race on June 28th at 2:00pm ET. Make sure you tune in as it was a very exciting race . . . BEST of the year.

Randy,
Your gains are greater then your losses at this point, ... so your doing great. I figured the rain may have been an issue.
Pole man, that's just friggin fantastic. You guys certainly picked the right race as, what, this is the first televised?

You guys still did a great job of it. You got your sponsors lots of TV air time. The fact a Subaru went on to win is really not a surprise considering the conditions you faced out there. I bet the Subaru team sacrificed a virgin to the rain god's.
You guys now know you can run with the big dogs.
Go get them at the Glen.

Mark, great shot...i've been going to Mid-Ohio since the late 60's and I can't figure out where this shot was taken from.
I believe Mark was shooting from the keyhole looking toward turn 1. That's my guess. Mark probably walks 20 miles + over the course of the weekend to grab his fabulous action shots.
Yep, you're right, it's from the outside of turn 1. You're right about the walking, too. I'm still a bit tired and wet! It was good seeing you there. And thanks, CHKMINI!
