2008 RSR archive
I agree, but we did OK. The pitstop coverage was good and the end of race spin (unfortunately
) was pretty good. The Cobalts got more than their fair share . . .Randy

SEMA / Las Vegas
RSR will be at the 2008 SEMA show.
One race car and the now infamous 'RSR Get-a-Way' pinball machine will be on display at the Koni booth at SEMA. The dates are early November in Las Vegas.
Stop by . . . play a game of pinball . . . check out the race car . . . say hello!

Want to go racing?
Here's an opportunity . . . if you are a funded driver and looking to test a competitive ST car . . . RSR motorsports will bring two of it's Koni Mini Cooper S racers to Phoenix for the Thanksgiving 3 hour endurance race. The race is sanctioned by NASA and will run at PIR. It is a charity event benefiting the ALS Foundation. There is plenty of track time including Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Have turkey dinner with the family on Thursday. . . go racing afterwards.
Competition License required.
At this point one car, two seats are open for the event. RSR will have a full crew, transporter, motorhome for the drivers, etc at the event. The event is fully arrive and drive. This would be a perfect event to try out an ST ride at a reasonable price.

RSR Mini at SEMA
The #198 racer and it's matching Pinball machine were on display at SEMA courtesy of KONI.
SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) is held annually in Las Vegas and features the latest in Automotive parts and accessories. It's the largest show of it's kind in the world. There were at least 10 Koni Race cars on display around the show but only RSR had pinball
Thanks Koni !

Phoenix Enduro
RSR Motorsports ran the ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease) Charity 3 Hour Enduro this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway.
We had two cars . . .
198 w/ Owen Trinkler and Jerry Bradbury.
Yes the very same Jerry aka, 'Sidhara' on NAM. Jerry is the '08 Rookie of the year in USTCC in his "Tuslo" Mini Cooper. He showed his Mini Driving skills as he piloted the 198 in a 1.5 hour stint, handing the car to Owen at the halfway mark.
The official tally showed Owen and Jerry in 10th place. HOWEVER, we know better. In an unexplained scoring 'FUBAR', the promoter showed the winner at 142 laps . . . we had 144 laps. A discussion with the officials at the end of race was . . . uhh? . . . don't worry about it, it was all for charity. I guess I kind of agree with the charity gig, but I still don't understand the error.
The 197 was piloted by Smalley/Smalley II with 143 laps at the end. Strangely, the 197 was scored 8th, two positions higher than the 198 and we drove one lap less . . . go figure.
Anyway . . . we had a great time and a 'moral' victory.
Thanks to Jerry for the great drive. He is a class guy and you should make a point of going to a USTCC race where he is competing.
Next stop . . . Daytona TEST . . Jan 3,4,5.

Thanks for the kind words, Randy.
Working with you and your team was a great privilege. Given that it was my first time in one of your cars and my first time at PIR, I am extremely happy to have kept it on the black stuff and shiny side up during my stints.
Turn One is a big challenge. Getting feedback from you and Owen Trinkler on the proper line was invaluable, but following Sarah (Iron Maiden) Cattaneo's Mini through there was a real eye opener.
It was altogether an unforgettable weekend. The cars are fantastic, with everlasting grunt and balletic balance. Just hanging with you and Owen and the other race drivers and absorbing some of your wisdom was invaluable for me. Thanks so much for the opportunity and all the best to you and your team in the 2009 season!
