My Winter Track car

Check out my new winter toy! This will get me through the cold up here. We had a foot and a half of snow last night! The MINI was like a plow this morning

Anyway check out some pics HERE!

I may start selling them as it is my design, not 100% sure yet.

Amit

What type of monitor are you using? I have a similar (purchased) set up for Forza, but currently don't have a dedicated tv for it so I have to haul it around when I want to use it. Getting a an LCD monitor and putting it close, instead of having a larger tv farther away hadn't really occured to me as the way to go. But cost wise it's probably the better way to do it!

In the pic is my Apple 23" Display. I don't use it for GT4 just did it for glam pics. But any one of the smaller LCD units would work perfect. The driving realism is amazing with the screen up close. Once you play GT4/Forza with something like this you won't be able to play without it.

Do you guys think there is a decent market for this? I just had it sampled by an Asian supplier for my own use but now it's got me thinking. I checked the web and they are pretty expensive. I could sell them a lot cheaper than what people are asking. hmmmm

I actually also have a keyboard and mouse tray that clips on for PC gamers. The think I did with this is it has two bolts at the chair base that allows you to separate the chair from the rest of the frame. That way you can shove the frame in the closet, and keep the chair in your living room.

One question.... how is the lateral stability? When I'm really into a game I lean. Would I topple it?

Totally stable, you're not going need to wear a SNELL 2005 Helmet with full HANS device

You actually have a little bit of a lean (very slight) as you turn the wheel. I did a 3 leg design instead of a 4 so this allows that slight bit of play. Really adds to the realism.

I don't think I should discuss price otherwise it turns into advertising and then I have to discuss with Mark. Hell I'm not even sure if i'll even have them produced. But I know that they could be priced below similar units available on the market. I find that some are way overpriced for what they are. That's the main reason I decided to design one myself. What would you guys pay for something like this? For reference the official Sparco one www.gtcockpit.com is US$580. I may just do a small production run of them for my buddies and I since I already have a good sample.

cheers

Amit

The official Gran Turismo 4 one is the way to go. Logitech Driving Force Pro. Has a full 900 degrees of rotation just like a real car. Using a proper wheel and cockpit setup really makes a different on these games. I rarely play the PS2 but when I do it's always GT4 because of the realism. Can't imagine what GT5 will be like on the PS3.
