I have just the one car for sale. If someone wants to kick some serious butt in club racing this is the car to do it in. To put it in perspective for those who like stats the last time I raced my MINI's at Daytona (Jan '06) I turned a 2:11.
The buyer will get a boat load of spares as well as setup data for this car.
Buy it now and be ready for club racing season.
Thanks
Tony
Nuzo's Minis would make good BMWCCA D-mod racers. You'ed have to get the weight down a bit and get a bit more power to the motor, and maybe some suspension work.
Also NASA GTS might be a good class. Might be more that Tony or others could suggest.
Good cars for the money if you want to race.
NASA USTCC
You could also run this MINI in United States Touring Car Championship (UCTCC). The MINI has proven it's self very well in USTCC. Also MINI USA is paying contingency money for 1st through 3rd place, $2000, $1000 and $750. Based on the release I just received from MINI they are pay higher contingency funds to USTCC then to World Speed Challenge or Grand AM. There is an East and West Coast series.
I'll be posting more later on USTCC
You could also run in NASA PT class. Nuzzo's MINI would be either a PTd or PTc. It all based on points awarded for modification. Visit http://performancetouring.com/ for more information

It's not fair at all to the Mini.

Quite a speed differential between those cars & a MINI. Even a nice race prepped one like Tony's.
Grand Am Mini
The best place for the grand Am Minis would be in D-mod BMW club racing with a liitle more power. Grand Am did not allow reduced pulleys on the supercharger, therefore they could easily gain more power just with that mod.Build-wise and suspention should be good to go in D-mod as well as more weight loss.
Lot of BMW racers are also racing with NASA, lot more fun and less restrictive than SCCA.

Reducing weight on this car shouldn't be a problem; I believe you can replace the glass windscreen with lexan, same for the greenhouse glass. Under GA rules we had to run stock glass. There is also some trimming of sheet metal that can be done. Drop in a smaller battery and my guess is you just lost about 100#. One other thing the stock fuel tank is 13.2 gals our fuel cell is 17 gals so on short races you will load less fuel and be lighter.
The suspension is about as good as you'll get Moton triple adjustable with remote gas canisters, adjustable sway bars, urethane bushings, spherical bearings all done right. Power wise GA rules strangled us they wouldn't even allow us the JCW kit which they have now approved for RSR. So from a power perspective there is much you can do in the modified classes. You can probably ad a wing like Paulo's and Carbon fiber panels. I'm no expert on the club rules so don't take what I'm saying as gospel. Rich, Paulo and Alain can probably tell you the specifics for their series.
This car needs to be tracked whether raced or DE. Its sitting covered in a heated garage ready and waiting for its new owner. It’s a thoroughbred and it needs to run.
Thanks

I've been working on a program and hope to be able to make an announcement fairly soon. If it all goes as planned (and it never does) we will debut at the Lime Rock event Memorial Day weekend. It doesn't involve a GTI, but I will post the annoucement here.
Thanks for asking.

Bump. This car needs to go, I need the room, I will consider all resonable offers. You can't build a better car without spending deep 5 figures. Includes a full spares package and lots of wheels and tires.
Thanks

Try listing your cars on the Bimmer forums under track cars & racing, wish someone would by them to race in D-mod BMWCCA and or nasa GTS3 class.
I'll spread the word in my region.

i saw this car on the track at Homestead this past weekend. it looked great. my buddy in a street MINI beat it however. i attribute it to the difference in drivers vs. cars. my friend has more hp, but about 600 lbs more weight. he has been tracking his MINI for many years. i heard that the person who rented it for the weekend is interested in purchasing it. i have been trying to get more info on the unfinished third car that is currently in maryland. any help?
Bean,
The car you saw at Miami is the sister car to this one. The ATspeed car was never completed as far as I know but was designed and built based on my MINI's. That was supposed to be the third car we were to run but the owner never completed the build.
If your interested in the fastest Grand AM Cup spec MINI in North America this is the car. It's turn key and ready to race or track or whatever. And yes this car is much faster than any other MINI running today.
Some of NMI's lap times:
- Trois-Rivieres (01:15.918)
- Lime Rock Park (01:00.980)
- Daytona (02:11.691)
- Homestead-Miami (01:32.521)
- Mosport (01:35.546)
- VIR (long course) (02:11.233)
Email me for details.

I highly doubt that this car would be grand-am legal any longer. If it was then that would benefit the Grand-Am Minis that are running today as they could adapt to the no non-legal mods that this car has.
Not really fair to compare these older GA Minis to the new ones then.
I was watching the new RSR Minis at LRP T&T day and they were within a few tenths of this cars best time there.
Also might disagree that this is the fastest Mini running today.
But with that said, this would make a fantastic race Mini for someone. I'm with Steve in hoping that we might find it out on the track soon, BMWCR, NASA GTS, SCCA depending what region you are in. Lot's of places to race it.
