<p>what's your take, is it a notable difference? Does your automatic shift out like it should.</p>

I'm very happy with it. Drives like it should have been from the factory. No more lag from the line and much more responsive in traffic. No mpg loss either.

Added NM Engineering Short-shifter, LED Daytime Running Lights and the GoBadges badgebar under the rear license plate.

Love the short shifter feel now and the LEDs look great. Merry Christmas to my Paceman! haha.

Was the short shifter hard to install? Does it change the throw noticeably? I am really interested in it.

Also how are the LED daytime running lights? Did you get the full LED fog light kit or just add LED bulbs to your fogs?

Thanks!

Well I wimped out and had the dealer install both. I know I probably got ripped off, but not real handy with a wrench so I left it to the professionals.

I am glad I got the short shifter, and the feel is much better. I actually was expecting it to be even shorter, but it's fine.

They replaced my fog lamps with these lights, so the fog toggle no longer does anything. They are always on, full circle lights up when the headlamps are off and the bottom half of the ring turns off when they are on. really cool look on those, so happy with the way they look!

Post pics of the fogs if you can! Sounds cool. I think I am going to get the short shifter and have a local shop do it.

Short shifter isn't hard if you enjoy turning a wrench. You just have to drop the exhaust, slide the heat shield back and pop off the shift linkage. It's not a technically difficult job and can be done by a single person.

Hard to get a great pic of the lights, and the weather has not been cooperating either, but at least this gives an idea.

Those lights are discussed in this thread.
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...fog-light.html

I want them but I didn't want to remove my entire bumper to do the install.

You said your fog light switch doesn't have a function anymore? I think the install may be incorrect then. The switch is still supposed to operate the fogs.

They are really no longer fog lights, they've been converted to daytime running lights. When the headlights are off, these lights are on as you see in the pic, and when I turn the headlights on, the bottom half of the LED ring turns off so they are a half-circle shape. Not sure what the function of the switch would be since they are always on.

If installed correctly this is how they should work..
-Full LED circle when headlights are off
-Half LED circle when headlights are on
-Fog light switch works when headlights are on

Took mine to get a new windshield.

Got nailed for the second time. First one I was able to patch. But the second one I never saw. I heard it hit a few days ago, but I didn't notice anything until a crack started growing down into my line of sight. What was even more shocking was seeing it in the dealer's without a shield in it. You wouldn't believe everything that has to come off -- inside and outside -- to remove a windshield.

And just a note if anyone needs to replace one -- I'd recommend getting it done by MINI and not a generic glass service. After seeing what I've seen, I'd only trust the job to somebody who knows the car very well.

Debadging the boot PHASE I

First letter out…

Final of PHASE I Debadging

Also no more red S… I notice the rear S started to peal out during last weekend’s cleanup. So I decided to remove all red. I kind of like it.

Today I sprayed clear plasti-dip along the painted rear hatch edge to keep it protected. I've already started seeing scratches from loading/unloading things so hopefully it helps! If not, it's just plasti-dip so I can just peel it off & respray if needed. Still drying in the garage right now so I'll see how it looks all nice and dry tomorrow!

I found a BMW snap in adapter for my iPod touch. I've also added rubber floor mats in the front and a stubby antenna. Next project will probably be led bulbs for the tails.

Did you notice any change in FM reception with the shorter antenna?

Nope. Sounds the same to me.

Anyone done LED bulbs in the paceman yet? I found a thread on the countryman, but searching did not come up with anything on the paceman.

There is quite a bit of discussion of LED on the Facebook Mini Paceman Owner's Group.

Washed, Clayed (first time using the stuff) and waxed. Also tried my hand at plasti-dip with the front brake vents. I don't like the way they turned out, so will have to redo them but I do think the white makes them pop. Also got a pic of my badge bar I installed after Christmas.

The FM antenna is built into the back window glass. The rubber antenna is only for AM reception. Unless you listen to AM, you could actually take it off, and it won't affect anything.
