Everything you need is in the box. I did 2 coats plus a little touch-up to get it perfect. I did all 4 in about 3 hrs. I did two wheels at a time using two jacks (I don't have stands).

Burger JB+: http://www.burgertuning.com/Mini_Coo...nce_tuner.html

Just plug it in. Takes about a 10 seconds to install.
Thanks for the reply! Silly question but when painting the calipers did you have the remove them or did you keep them on the rotors and just mask and paint?

Thanks again!

I left them on and used painters tape to mask. The box comes with some tape but i used blue painters tape instead.

Also the reviews say how bad the brush that comes with it is. I bought some artist brushes from the walmart craft section (dont go to the hardware/paint section) as a back up but didn't use the art ones for the first car. The brush in the kit was fine but that kind of paint was not washable so i threw the brush out when done.

The next day we painted a fiat 500 caliper's and used the artist brushes. I still have more than half a can of paint and brake cleaner left after 8 calipers with two coats each.

Plasti dip. I am trying this stuff out in a couple of parts. Looks good but I am more interested in durability.

Thank you.

I already have plans to Dip the Beltline trim, and I am actually going to color match the headlights and tails with the car color.
Later plan, Powder coats the wheels in Black or Get some new wheels I have in mind.
I actually did some computer magic on a photo to see how it would look.

What do you think?

That looks great! The body color matched headlight and taillight trim looks like it should have come from the factory that way. Definitely what you should do.

A benefit with the JB+ is it has constant power from a stop and when in traffic on the highway.

Sport mode also fixes this problem but the JB+ instead of Sport all time the engine is not always at higher RPM like when you keep sport mode mode on all the time.

JB+ with Sport mode is of course even better but I dont like always using sport mode cause I like to keep a little back for when I want a extra punch.

Sport also killed my MPG and the JB+ has not shown a real difference in MPG.
Still great!

I know… yes for now. I wanted black tips so I went for it and I also think the stock tips are way too small for this car.
I also like to keep my car quite but I am planning a NM air intake soon and later on next year cat back. I don’t want to do all my mods to fast, or I will run out of things to do to it later next year.

Working next on some more exterior mods.

BTW, Red Baron is looking awesome.

Nice! Tell me more about those 3.5" tips. Where did you get them? How was the install? Cut and weld? Any sound difference at all?

I am totally along the same line as you!
Please, report in detail tips replacement (what parts, cost, etc?)...
redBARON has few updates, just did not have time to post...

Have Good news and Bad news

Good news and Bad news…

Good news first,
These are cut and welded with a small extra pipe to make it fit better. Very simple and fast install.

Not the cleanest welding job but i gave it a coat of paint after wards...

Bad news second,

Like I mentioned before , I think the look of these black pipes is awesome but notice a problem today, I notice the black was fading a bit on the inside of one tip.

I got these locally in Plano Texas for $160 installed including tax. These are economical tips that these guys got from China so the look is great but the quality was no good. They are getting some new ones locally powder coated to replace these in about a week.

They did offer me any other they had, but I think I will give the black ones one more chance.

The only bad thing is they will have to cut again and add a longer extension. Then I’ll paint the underneath again, (no problem)

Don’t be discourage from my experience, it could be a bad batch of powder coating. I like them black so much that if this happens again I think I might give the inside of it a coat of high temp paint and call it a day.

Will update on this in a couple of weeks.

How hard or complicated was it to remove the beltline? This is next in my list of to do.

Not too difficult, definitely a two man job for attacking purposes. The front fender and windshield was very easy. The doors and rear were difficult. Basiclaly just open the doors for spacing and either slide or pop them off. A flat tool with a towel on it to stop scraping helps lift and separate the trim. Honestly your best bet is to mask it off with painters tape and newspaper. Give it a few coats over an hour and then remove tape/paper.

Headlights/tail lights/ grill were a PITA also but I didnt want to mask those off.

Not today but last week I added:

JB+ Tuning wow felt ok at first but now the pull is great, acceleration is vastly improved and is for sure faster incresing 542 lbs from my HTs to a 4All was noticible, now is not.

H&R lowering springs, well this is standard for all of my MINIs the wheel gap is almost gone, and they came in Blue so they match my color

Burger Tuning Spacers 12mm rear 15mm front with bolts great set!

18" Double Star in Black MINI wheel set

Still on hold
Akrapovic DP
Silicone hoses in and out of turbo
JCW air box
Control arms to change the chamber after lowering my rears have a lot of chamber

I just installed the JB+ Tune as well. I can feel a difference, but it's hard to tell yet just how much since I spent most of my commute yesterday -- both ways -- in THE most annoying stop-and-go traffic I've seen in the two years I've been doing this commute. Hopefully I'll get to open it up a bit this weekend.
