R60 Rough idle Manic Tune

I something strange has happened to me. I recently got a stage 2 tune from manic and love it! Pulls so much harder! Two days ago my hot side boost tube popped off from where I have an exhaust piece replacing the intercooler muffler.

I put everything back together and now I have a rough idle under cold start. When the car is at temp, idles fine and I have no hiccups while getting on it. Surprisingly, no codes ever came up when the tube split apart. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this?

I emailed mini dynamics where I got the tune to see if they had any idea why that could be. Maybe it's tune related? Maybe something else got damaged? I do not have a boost gauge so I can't see how much psi I am pushing but it does not sound like there is a leak.

Please help

Hello,

Yes I would first get the tune removed to seee whats going on. Second i wold go back to that turbo and check the intake tube, hot side tube, inter-cooler tube and all the back to the intake manifold. If one popped off maybe another section is loose.

Thanks for the response! I finally ordered the switch for my tune so I'll go back to stock tune once that comes in. I didn't think of checking the cold side of the intercooler; I'll have to do that today.

Strange enough it worked itself out. Didn't find any boost leaks. After driving about 300+ miles it went back to normal!

I had the tune on for about a week, week and a half before the issue so I don't think it was still learning the tune. The only thing I can think of is maybe it took that long to realize it had the correct amount of air/pressure again?

When I first put on the downpipe before I even had the tune it took over 100 miles before I got a CEL.

Yea, that sounds like it needed to learn. Was there a reset after the flash?

Does your car shake when you put it on #1 stock map?

I did reset the ECU after the flash but the problem was still the same at first

I got the Alta hot side boost tube just so I didn't have to worry about it popping off where the stock intake muffler is. Mine kept coming off at my Manic tune, and it was worth the $100 or so for the piece of mind.

having the same problem

I had my stage 3 manic tune on about 10 months ago. It always struggled with the idle, in thought it was because of the colder spark plus I put in at the same time. 10 months, an engine rebuild and a new turbo later, I've just got it back on the road with the stock spark plugs. It was running smooth until I applied the manic tune again. Idle is "lumpy" on all of the performance modes. If I switch it back to stock, it smooths out after an hour or so of driving. Really sucks,

I had Manic 3 on my Countryman but I just switched over to RPM Power. I became a RPM dealer a few months ago. I’m thinking you have a vacuum leak somewhere or the pressure converter.

I consided it being a vacuum leak previously, but the whole engine's been pulled out and put back in, I'd be surprised if the same vacuum leak existed after that. Only place I can think of a leak would be the oil catch can, or my eBay intercooler. But then surely I'd be experiencing it on the stock map as well, not just the Manic tune??

something isn’t able to hold of 14psi, warped wastege, DV or pressure converter

Well, it's a brand new turbo, and I've already upgraded the diverter valve to the GFB+ unit. Suppose it could be the pressure converter but I seem to be missing some symptoms of that failing (based on forums). Hope it isn't the valve cover causing a vacuum leak. Already replaced 80% of whats under the hood and I'm getting pretty tied of troubleshooting this car.
