GP2 fouled plugs

Hello all,

I have a 2013 GP2, stock plugs are fouled, and then added the Manic tune (in conjunction with the catless downpipe) and new plugs are also fouled.

I was told that the mini runs rich and that they typically foul the plugs.

Any way that I can correct this?

Current plugs with the catless downpipe and Manic Map B are NGK (1422) ILKR8E6 Spark Plug gapped at .022" with 1yr/1,700 miles on the plugs.

Cheers!

Only way to know what is truly going on is to read the AFR via a wideband.

The fact that you have a Manic tune could be why it is fouling as much as it is, have you reached out to them for either a remap or to have them read a log?

I've been told that you need colder plugs (i.e., NGK1422) only when you increase HP by 75 or so. If these aren't stock plugs for the GP II, maybe switch back to stock? My '07 MCS ran stock plugs with added 100+ HP --- no problems.

I know --- not a good comparison --- '13 GP II to '07 MCS, but when I switched to this colder plug, it made a nice improvement in all-around performance.

Sounds like your Mini's was running rich with the stock tune and stock plugs and then you added the Manic Tune and still got fouled then you have another problem because Mini's run on the lean side if anything.

Could you take the tune off and replace the plugs , see whats going on , if it is the tune or not.

Some car brands, such as the Citroen DS3 Racing N14 engine has 204 horsepower and uses colder spark plug NGK IR ILZKR8C8G
