transfer case on all4 s
Does anyone else have issue with their TRANSFER case.
2012 all4 s auto with 14k miles: started hearing funky noises, around 50 mph + the car started to shake while given it gas.
I took him in and mini said it was the transfer case.
I also had a 2011 all4 auto and the transfer case went at 22K
I tried to search around but did not find others having issues.

I may have to have mini look at ours. It seams like with ours it's when you first start moving I notice a vibration and on a rare occation when it downshifts it vibrates some untill you let off the gas or upshifts. we have a 2013 with 5200 miles. i noticed this after 2 weeks having the car and gas miles is crap. the best we can get is 28HWY and adv for the 5200 miles is 22.8

I have a 2011. Car was VERY noisy climbing thru 1st - 4th gear (5th and 6th were ok)
Took it in to have checked and they replaced the transfer case. This was at about 30K miles.
Pretty soon after that was fixed, I have gotten a bad "vibration" in the dash, especially on any kind of rough road. I'm pretty sure if I took for service they wouldn't be able to do anything and I'd just get the normal service runaround. I HAVE suspected that the vibration started about the same time they replaced the transfer case.
Anyone had any luck getting this kind of vibration fixed or is it a lost cause?
That vibration has really started to get under my skin. I bought a "premium" car and it kinda sounds like a toyota corolla.

Took my CM in for an oil change 2 days ago, then noticed a burning oil smell and a bit of smoke under the hood yesterday. Dropped it back off at the dealer this morning and they said the transfer case is leaking and needs to be replaced. They're trying to find me a loaner by this afternoon. The service manager said they were getting the parts overnighted, so hopefully it won't be as long of a wait as the poster above me.
Now that I've read the comments in this thread, I have noticed it jerking a bit from time to time. Really considering getting an extended warranty when the factory one runs out.

You could take it into your dealer and get them to fix it.

My car started making a loud noise about two months ago. Took it in to see what problem was and it was the transfer case. Repaced as car is still under warrently. I drive a manual and car has about 40,000 miles on it. My car seems to be in the shop all the time. Everything has been under warrenty but still an inconvience. Am thinking of buying the extended warranty. Have till April to decide. Figure it is cheaper than a car payment.

Mine started acting up in the fall. Vibration under certain conditions. Dealer couldn't ID it and probably thought I was a crank. Also was starting to have issues when turning corners in the form of vibrations...very quick...like something was binding or grinding briefly. During straight line travel I occasionally notice a very low frequency rumbling sound. Finally a week or so I rounded a corner and had an episode where the vibration shook the car going around a corner. Took it in today and they ID'd the tranfer case as the issue. Fortunately still under warrantee.
