Connected display screen not working

Sa to say that this morning when I started up my connected display did not come on. It was 17 degrees outside but I wouldn't think that should affect any component this way. I checked the fuse and it was fine. Fiddled with all the controls and made sure I hadn't disabled the display somehow.

Now I have an appointment Tuesday to get it looked at. Kinda hoping it just rears back to life so I can have music on my trip from Tahoe to San Francisco tomorrow. BTW the nav is great in a snowstorm at night!

In the shop now, apparently they are taking apart a countryman dash for the first time to try to trace what's going on. Hopefully I'll have an update and maybe a car tomorrow.

Definitely let us know when you find out what's going on.

Day four at the dealer and so far they've told me that it's electrical and they have it working intermittently but need to trace the connections more to ensure it doesn't go out again.

Service advisor called today and I should be able to pickup tomorrow. He says it was an electrical short upstream from the display so they had to trace it pretty deep. It's been in for over a week, not sure how much of that time is tracing vs taking the dash apart and putting it back together for the first time.

it's like they're speaking a very weird dialect of english, known only as "CARREPAIRSPEAK"?

I'm sorry that your car has had to spend so much time in the shop. did you at least get something interesting as a loaner?

Yeah, hard to parse without knowing what champ2 is and other such things. I got a regular mini, so I guess you could consider that interesting compared to a normal car. Not much compared to the countryman. It was pretty unequipped.

Champ2

Just got my 2011 Cooper S (purchased in March) back after 8 days in the shop. Went in because Sirius wouldn't lock in and Mini Connected wasn't. Mini replaced the CHAMP2 module and reprogrammed the car (18 hours they said) and replaced shorted coax cable from antenna back to radio. Service was in contact daily. MiniUSA was adamant the repairs be made before car returned. I was sad to be without the S for a week but had BMW 3 in the interim.
Anyway, Min Connected now is and Sirius seems to be working although I haven't loaded stations as yet, just got her back last night.
