LOVE the "Sport" Mode Button ....Is it ok to have it on all the Time??? Im thinking it would be ok? I cant get enough of the "Pops and Burbles " from the Exhaust ...
Sport button ON is the only way to drive these cars, The steering tightens up and throttle is more linier. I have installed a relay to make Sport-on the default when ign is turned on.

If you mean linear: That clearly isn't the case, throttle is almost digital (on/off) with Sport Mode on while actual throttle response isn't quicker at all, delay remains the same (Valvetronic doesn't react quicker, rotating masses aren't reduced). No point on that, whether on street or on track. Steering is heavier, that's true, but steering isn't quicker and it doesn't give better feel what the tires are doing, just making the car feel heavier. It's fake, faux, it gives you the impression of quicker engine response. That's about it.
I noticed when the air conditioning is on the Sport mode helps with take off on hills. A lot of hills here where I live. Engine does not lug as much. Obviously manual transmission.
If you have an automatic transmission the Sport mode shifts into lower gears than non-Sport. It's real noticeable on my new 8 speed JCW Clubman. I noticed it on my 2014 JCW Coupe too.
The joy of the Sport button comes alive when you get an RPM tune. Select true linear throttle for 1 mode and progressive for the other mode.
Allows you to have two VERY distinct driving experiences. Linear giving you much better true control mid corner and progressive giving that "bigger engine" feel by cheating, making around town more pleasant.
Justy .02.
On track, I use non-sport (linear), on street usually in sport for peppier feel

However I'm glad you like it. .
I like the steering firmed up a bit and it does give a bit more feedback. And the throttle response is quicker at just about any position. it just feels better. And if you're one to leave your car stock, it also actuates the valve in the exhaust to give pops and burbles. I'm never going to decat my car, as I think that's stupid, so I like the little rowdiness it adds when that valve is open, but can turn off the sport button to make the exhaust a little milder for driving in the neighborhood.
You like it and that's fine. However, as a matter of fact, the steering doesn't provide any more feedback since that isn't even technically possible. The throttle response isn't quicker too. When for example your engine is idling and you're stomping quickly onto the pedal the engine will reach a certain speed (say 4000 rpm) in exactly the same time whether you're in sport mode or not, as again it isn't even technically possible being different. The only difference is the required movement of your right foot. Don't get fooled by your butt feel.

Chris,
What is this valve in the exhaust you mention. I can't find anything relating to a valve on the OEM Parts website.

There isn't one on a Roadster. The "Sport" mode in my 2020 JCW Clubman does open a second exhaust port and increases the sound, but I have the adjustable dampers option too. The second generation Minis don't have that stuff. Sport mode does steering and throttle.
The "valve" on a R series is emulated, it's not a physical item. By throwing slightly more fuel during engine decel and retarding the timing a bunch it creates the bubbles and pops.
The N18 does do it even in non-sport mode a little, they're just muffled out when you have 2 cats a resonator and a muffler. Start removing items and you'll hear them.
FYI you can set sport steering profile using NCS dummy reference pic. to get that youll need NCS expert and a kcan cable. I chose to keep the standard profile for both sport and non sport.
