That's funny. My neck hurts and the tire diameter starts falling.

no, but it doesn't make as big of an impact IMO on the base model

For me the Sports button gives me wings.....but you know how some CMs have been lately. Some were blessed with resilient chrome taping (others not) and some with wings (or wings/jet-pack combo) whereas others do nothing. Most of the time when something doesn't work for me I troubleshoot, but a warning to the wise: Even then your happiness will not be 100% guaranteed!

The proper way to start my CMS is.... put key in, push in clutch, push start button, push sport button. Otherwise, it just doesn't feel right. :-)
Hopefully when the Accessport finally comes out, I'll be able to keep Sport on without pushing it every time I start.

Not out yet for the 2011+ cars, but they're working on it.

Dang! I REALLY hate to have my ignorance hanging out ;-(

2003 MCS. No owners manual. Sport button????

Am I overlooking some wondrous device?
On all models?
Blindly punching various controls I've found none that transformed (or altered in any way.)

I think it's 2011+ only.
For cars missing a 3rd pedal, it adjusts shift schedule. For all, it allows more overboost (I think), tighter steering, quicker throttle response, and adds some "pop and burble" to the exhaust note. (Boost and burble are S-only). :-)

I wish it would increase the boost for more HP gains.
I installed a wireless boost control on my 350z steering wheel which increase the boost from 12psi to 16 psi.
I am looking into this for my CMs

There is a mod out there that can automatically turn on the Sport Button when you turn on the car. Do a search; it's well documented here on NAM. There may a minor difference between the Coopers to the Countrymen, but it's likely very similar, if not identical.

I did it on my 2008 MCS and can't imagine ever driving without it.

I had my last car chipped and it wound up voiding my warranty and I found myself trading in a that would never run right for my Mini.. I like this idea because its a plug in design and not a permanent flash. I would like to talk to some owners first hand before I'd purchase.. I don't want to become a guinea pig for them..

Not sure that this device will be able to set the sport button on by default nor allow shift points to be changed. It appears to be able to load customized AF maps and tweak some other things.

I am operating out of ignorance here but I'd be interested in hearing more of its documented list of tweakable ECU settings.
