New R59 JCW Owner !!!

Introducing my 2013 MINI Cooper Coupe S JCW ROADSTER in Spice Orange Metallic ......

I found it on Craigslist all the way in Bremerton , WA ..I wasnt planning on buying another car sight unseen and having it transported but the stars aligned ..Car only has 17,200 miles and the Seller is an original owner retired 63 old Military man who served in the Airforce ....Great Guy ..we spoke on the phone for an extended period of time getting all the details about the car ...Always garaged and meticulously maintained by him ( im not surprised since he is a military man ) ...

MINI enthusiasts in this forum will notice that the wheels on the car are not the original wheels that came with JCW package they should be the Cross Spoke Challenge wheels which he still has and will be given to me with the car !

Funny story about the wheels on there now ...They are actually true OEM MINI wheels that are available on Current JCW packaged MINI's but back in 2012 when he ordered his MINI online to his specifications he was invited to a MINI Convention that was showing a NEW wheel that was going to come out ( 17-inch black matte finish MINI JCW GP II wheels) and he really liked the wheel so was able to special order them and have them switched out when his car was delivered ....Love the look of those wheels !!!

I already booked an Auto Transport Company ...Going to use Montway ...The price to transport is $1,500 (open trailer) From Bremerton, WA to Greenwich, CT which i though was very good considering the crazy asking prices right now in the automotive world during/ after Covid 19...

The Car is scheduled to be picked up between July 5th and July 8th with a delivery time of 8 to 10 days ..So hoping the car gets to me by the 17th of July

I am VERY excited to say the least ! Now i need to find a garage space to rent again since my 2 spots under my little Garage Apt are occupied by the RX7 and MR2 .....Eat your heart out Jay Leno !!!

Enjoy the Photos ....

Thanks ! Yes .. I really like those wheels as well … makes the car a little bit more “unique” compared to the Cross Spoke Challenge standard wheel on the JCW….

Congrats! Love the colour - that's about the only thing on my car I'm not thrilled with.

How does the roof work? Is it manual or powered? Does it lay "on top" when down, or slide in between the seats and the trunk? Is there a tonneau? Inquiring minds and all that....

Thanks ! Your color is Nice .. I believe it’s called “Reef Blue” but I could be mistaken ? Check your color code …

the roof is power .. you just have to unhook it manually from the headliner latch then press the toggle … it lays on top when down (look at the 2nd picture I uploaded)… just like the ND Miata I believe … no tonneau…

I'm truly hoping everything goes well with this purchase!

I really wanted to buy this car, but after talking to the seller for a while I got a bad feeling that he wasn't totally on the up and up. It could just be I'm a skeptical person, but I didn't get all the warm fuzzies I needed when he shared some funky info about the title and/or registration in regards to a lien. Otherwise, everything looked perfect! I hope the car isn't delayed and the title is sorted and you get the best car ever!

Cheers,
John

Got the JCW Roadster this past Friday night ! Was So DIRTY !!! LOL after its 15 day trip from WA to CT Got it all cleaned up over the weekend ! LOVE the Spiced Orange Metallic color ....and the drive is amazing that JCW exhaust makes a really nice sound ...A few before and after pictures ...I think i need a new battery ( still has the original ) the "connectivity screen" goes blank and "battery low " symbol comes up on the upper part of the screen ...sometimes its static when you turn on the radio then music plays but cant change the stations because the joystick doesnt work ....Hope its nothing serious ? What does Forum think it could be ??

No ..Not at all ! ..It was always garaged by the Meticulous owner ...

So i want to baseline the car ..it has 17,360 miles and the Coolant and Brake fluid i believe have never been changed which makes sense since it was only driven 1,928 miles a year !
I think it would be wise of me to change the coolant and brake fluid as well as doing the oil and oil filter although the oil was changed at 14,000 miles and still is a clear and not dark ....What does the forum think ??? I think spark plugs and air filter are still good to go .......

Check on the changing coolant & brake fluid.
No good reason to change the oil unless its been a couple of years since it was changed.
Check the air filter just to be sure....
Plugs should be fine at that mileage, unless the PO was depleted uranium footed....
