My roadster has arrived!

Put in the order on Jan 10; picked up at the dealer on Apr 5. That was quite a test of patience. But i'm sooo happy to have special-ordered.

Here are some initial pics....

And yes, it's on the wrong side of the street... that's where the last of the sunlight was.

Now I need to settle on a name.

Cheers,
Scott

Wow

Nice car. Are you going to clear bra it? Nice time of year to have a Roadster.

Question----after they said it was in production how long before waiting transport?
I'm in production now but my order went in March 10. I'm hoping I can beat your 90 day wait. Mine is a roadster. Yours looks great.

Very nice. Beautiful combo of things together. (opinion of an interloping R52 owner)

Nice combination of the toffee interior and high class grey. Also like your red edges with your black stripes. Congrats!

Thanks for all the welcomes, I'm happy to be part of the Mini club, and the Lounge Leather Toffee club.

I'm not sure about the clear bra; don't know anything about it. I'll have to look into it.

Mine got to the dock in Southhampton the day that the boat left, so it had to wait two weeks for the next boat. Then, once it arrived in CA, it seemed to take a couple weeks to clear the VDC and get to the dealer in Torrance, then another week at the dealer getting parts and because my wife & I had to schedule a time to go get it. So, a lot of slack time between steps.

We ordered the car @ the dealer on Sat 1/11, so the order went to factory Mon 1/13. It didn't start production until 2/4 however.
Arrived @ Southhampton on Tue 2/11 in time to wave goodbye to the ship, then waited for the next ship on 2/25.
Arrived @ the VDC on 3/19 & should have gone to the Dealer 3/24, but didn't get there until 3/31 when the Dealer contacted me. We picked it up the next weekend on 4/5

This post was hugely helpful in tracking my roadster and even ensuring I knew which boat it was on. The Mini USA Owners Lounge tracking is only marginally helpful.

Very nice combo , really like the toffee on the R59, and against the Highclass Gray. Wow looks very nice.

I like the English oak wood dash against the toffee, as well as the door handle insert. Kind of warms things up. But that might be just me. With the top down on the R59 it really lets the light in vs the R58 to expose the colors.

&

I guess if you really want something very few have you could get the MINI Goodwood Rolls Royce Walnut Wood dash.

The English Oak and the RR MINI Goodwood dash are both real wood. Just two different types.

And.. ...

There are also side matching RR walnut door handle inserts.

BTW love the combo you ordered.

Very nice config Scott! Congrats!!!
You must have been one of the last MINI roadster to be able to order in Chocolate . . . unless I'm mistaking a grey at sunset for chocolate!
They killed a few of the fun colors in 2014!

Anyway it really looks nice and I love the nice red little touch of the strip coordinated with the few red touches on the interior.

Edit: Indeed I should have payed more attention. It is highclass gray. Very nice! It is among my favorite colors in what is left to choose from in 2014

.

Finally got around to some more pics. These are after I blacked-out the light & grill surrounds, among a few other items. Taken at dusk, so the Highclass Gray is darker than in direct sunlight.

I really prefer the black vs. chrome on the lights & grill.

Your new Roadster looks fantastic, ScottyM. I'd be curious to see the Highclass Gray in sunlight and how it play with the Toffee interior. Did you do the Toffee Color Line as well?

Here's a few sunlight shots and the interior. Piano black with Toffee color line.

The amount of sunlight and angle of view really changes the shade of gray (often making me think there's a hint of blue and/or purple in there).

Looks so good! Congratulations on the new car. We're just down the road in Granada Hills. I ordered my roadster last week (May 6).

For the other person that asked about how much off sticker Roadsters are going for, mine was $37195 sticker and I negotiated it to $34225.

Actually I hate sunlight shots . . . can't see a thing

But... I love the car

That's how you've got to do it with MINIs, since it's possible one must to get a nice interior

I would recommend some different mats other than rubber:
