Washer Fluid Warning Light

Hi guys! It's been a while I posted here. Been busy motoring in my Roadster and haven't had any problems until last weekend. It's not a big deal (I hope), but a bit annoying.

The Washer Fluid Warning Light came onSunday morning and when I checked it sure looked low. Filled up the tank, but the warning still comes on. Is there a reset I am missing? I didn't see anything mentioned in the manual.

The washers are working so I'll probably leave it until the next scheduled service, but was just wondering if anyone has any idea or if there's anything I can do.

Thanks!

You mean the icon in the tachometer display? There isn't a separate light...

Yes, I meant the icon (warning triangle) to indicate the washer fluid is low.

Are you sure it's the washer fluid warning that's still there? There are a bunch of things that pop up, like low temperature outside, etc., all of which keep the little triangle next to the mileage showing.

Yes, I am sure. When I start the engine the "washer fluid" symbol shows briefly. And we sure don't have any low temperature in south Florida. I wish! Been rather roasty-toasty on the weekend. I also looked at the "check info" setting and the "washer fluid" symbol is the only thing that shows there.

I suspect something's wrong as the warning came on out of the blue while I was driving and I didn't use the wipers at that time.

On the R57 the sensor for the washer fluid is right next to the front left fog light. If something hits the fog light or lower bumper area it would break the sensor. ECS Tuning pointed out this to me after I hit a small animal and the light showed up on my dash too. He posted a great photo.
You can see the photo of the sensor and washer fluid tank on the R57 post
" How much is that going to cost".
The sensor was about $35.
On mine the check info said "OK" no problems
I sat in a Roaster a few weeks ago when I got my fluids changed. Great car. Probably will be my next one.

hope this helps.

Thanks, Bill. Something to look into.

I had another look-see yesterday. The tank is full, so it's not leaking and the washers are working fine. Stupid warning... lol

Well, I am due for an oil change fairly soon and will have it looked into then.

Well, turns out it was a faulty sensor. I had it replaced yesterday and all's well again.
