Hi Folks,
Just wanted to make you all aware of an issue I have on my top. The drivers side far front seal, between the hardware and the top itself has several seals down its length. The front one has torn. You may want to take a look at yours.

Funny this pops up as I just noticed this on mine yesterday. Is this something I should have fixed by the dealer or just ignore it until it becomes a problem (or even cut it myself so it won't tear further)?

 

I'm going to have the dealer replace it.

 

No tears yet on mine, how many miles/how long have you owned it?

 

for me, 3 months, 1,400 miles.

 

A little over 4000 miles, we bought it in April.

 

I gave mine a good look and everything seems to be fine. What's the update on everyone else who was having this issue?

 

Part has been ordered, just waiting for it to come in. Mine tore on the opposite side.

 

Spoke to the dealer yesterday, no eta on the part yet. Anyone have experience on lead time for odd parts like this usually is?

 

Roadster is in for repair today. Part took about a month to get. I'm not thinking that's too bad for a odd part like this. Dealer will of course look to see if they can find out why it happened and if they figure it out i'll let you folks know.

Well, the car was repaired yesterday, but the dealer could not tell why it was tearing. I see how the new one lasts. Could be that it was just a little off in placement out of the factory.

 

Maybe it had a very slight tear from getting installed, or was just defective to begin with? Hopefully !

 

Either could easily be true.
