Any NAM member R59's on MTTS?

We decided to join the last leg of the 2012 Mini Takes the States event, so we will be joining the group in Phoenix and driving to LA with them this weekend. Its a long shot, but wondering if any of you roadster folks on here will be there?

We aren't actually driving, but we will be at the party in Boulder tomorrow.

Oh fun! The event in Boulder looks great. We would love to do the drive through the Rockies. I wish we had known about this event earlier and had also had some pretty good assurance we would have our Roadster before July. We knew nothing about it till we meet up with some people on Saturday with a local MINI club.
Have a blast tomorrow night in Boulder. Would love to hear how it is.

I did the Louisville,KY to Chicago, IL leg, but unfortunately not in my JCW Roadster (still waiting on part from Germany), but I was able to take my Countryman S All4. Louisville was very hot, but Chicago (Joliet - Autobahn Country Club) was a blast. Very few privately owned Roadsters though - most of them had company plates on them.

OH NO! THIS was the event you were hoping to have your roadster back in time for? I am so sorry. That is painful. The countryman's are awesome and I am sure it was a fabulous ride, but the limited number of Roadsters make it pretty special. We found online info that suggests only about 990 Roadsters were sold in the U.S. from Feb-June. I hope you get your car back!

OH, and quick question if you do not mind. A friend had hoped to take his JCW to Phoenix on Friday like we are, but he now can't go. He will be attending the autocross in LA but is not registered for the ride. Are the "badges" part of the registrants items, or are they something you buy along the way?

The badges you put on your windows (cling-on) are in the registration packets, but you can buy the heavy stick-on badges for the grille at their MINI USA vendor tent for $20 as well as pins for $3.

And yes, since there were very few Roadsters (especially JCW) present I was rather upset I didn't have mine, but I'm glad Frida decided to go ballistic on me before the trip rather than during!

Thank you so much for the information. This is very helpful. And yes, in hindsight its a very good thing Frida had her issue prior to the MTTS event!

The Boulder party was last night and it was really fun! They had yummy food, drinks and a live band. Lots of neat cars on display. A couple Coupes, but the two Roadsters were dealer cars. We got to hob-*** with the folks driving through and the area, and shop and regional managers. The packet contained a nice Mini tote with sales and other stuff inside. The weather was perfect! Nice location too. We stayed past 10:00 I think. Just a great time chatting with the other owners.

Great evening!

Sorry for the delay - didn't have time to respond before heading out for MTTS Friday night. So glad you had a good time, we did too in Phoenix. Definitely want to do this, maybe even the whole stretch, in 2014! Sounds like a real great time. We'll see . . .
