The only ones I've seen in a roadster
What's the seat height like, will they lower than stock seats ?
I'm quite tall myself, about 6 ft 6", so I had my driver seat attached directly to the floor of the car. This was necessary for me, so I would not be looking directly at my sunvisor all the time :-)
I had a custom frame made which is directly mounted on the floor, without any sliding rails. No seat adjustment horizontally possible anymore as a result, but I'm the only one driving the car, so no issues there
I'm very comfy and satisfied with this config I think that by default the Recaro CS's are a bit higher than the original MINI leather lounge seats...
Seriously one of the most greatest cars I've ever owned. SO much fun.
If you live in the SoCal area, I highly recommend driving one of the many routes to Malibu. Kanan is usually less traffic and lots of passing lanes. There is one steep drive down which makes your heart race but SO much fun.
So I picked her up on Memorial day... a two-hour dash back from New Jersey to Long Island in the drizzling rain, so no top-down time. But today is Tuesday and the sun smiled... well, not exactly, but it wasn't raining!

The summer should be fun
Looks great, congratulations. Nice photos too, especially the B&W one. Any plans for personalization?

Now THAT's the big question
Yes... lots... but I'm not going to rush at it. I'll do a few small things first of all... a bit of bling (because that's what Minis are for). There's a small, but noticeable paint chip on the boot (on the left, opposite the "Cooper S") that's just screaming out for a "Black Jack" badge. I'm an Englishman in New York... so I'm going to milk the cliché a bit and wave the flag. The wheels have a fair amount of curb rash, so I may try a back plasti-dip spray as a temp fix until I can do the whole new wheels with summer tyres thing and use the old ones for the winter (it's shod with run-flats and I do not particularly like them). Seat covers maybe (the plastic ones are OK, but they may be a bit sweaty in the summer). Those plastic inserts for the roll-over hoops look like a good idea as well.... and finally (in the bling department) I am unapologetically fond of red calipers! First performance mod will probably be a cold air intake.
But of course... I only picked her up yesterday and I'm just 150 miles into working out my priorities. She'll let me know what she wants
Photo of my '14 Roadster at my old Virginia home before moving to Florida three years ago. I have only 8,000 miles logged on my MINI. Should be fine for many years to come.
You need an updated shot from TPA... most of our family lives in the area and we're down there quite a bit. You have fewer miles on your Roadster than I do! And I thought I wasn't getting it out enough.
Looks good, and great Roadster weather is probably just around the corner in Tampa, now that it's Fall. Some of the Roadsters up here in Maine will have to go into hibernation soon, or head south to places like Tampa to escape the snow and cold!
Spent Labor Day weekend down in the Bay area, and purchased a 2012 R59 for my wife. She's in love with it! It delivered to us on the 13th, and she's already put 1400 miles on it haha. (Black F56 is mine)
I bought Sparky, my 2015 Roadster S, about a year ago. I got it through CarMax, and while it only had one owner, its history is a mystery. It had 78,000 miles on it, and at first I was wary about that, but then I thought that anyone who drove a car that much must have liked it! The car is incredibly clean inside and out, and very photogenic.
Top down, flat out, tail up. I like the clean look!
This is a Roadster I spotted one day walking to my train station earlier this year. Roadsters are...uncommon, so I couldn't wait to see what this one was about. I was a Speed Racer nut as a child, so when I saw that this was the Mini Mach 5, ooh, my long lost childhood came alive!
We joined MINIs On Top this past weekend. We had an absolute blast driving the backroads of NH and climbing Mt Washington. The best part? The great people we met! Rally Car level: unlocked!
Welcome and congrats! Il looks familiar I wonder if you got it from someone else here.
To this day my favorite ride we've owned...
Enjoy the road trips if you're into that. I can't wait for this pandemic to be over so we can be on the road again.
Now I have to ask! what's those tail lights you got. I don't recall the roadster having this Union Jack lights available ??? I thought those came in Gen3

Thanks for the welcome. I have had a few fun cars but this one is a whole new type of fun
The taillights are aftermarket, they shipped from UK but came really fast. SMPS2012.com they are really good quality and have gradient turn signals. I found them on Petrol Ped's YouTube channel. He tried both colors on his identical R59.
