Welcome. Great looking car, looks great in red, not too many around without the stripes.
Thanks. I was debating whether or not to add stripes. I have seen some after market ones and I was wondering if they do well with waxing, etc. Any thoughts?
Stripes do ok, but don't last as long as the paint. Can't see how the high and fairly constant levels of UV would be easy the stripes down there. Then there's the fade factor. Paint will change some in time, if you have stripes on it for a long period of time, the paint under the stripes won't fade, so if you decide to take the stripes off again, you will still see where they were. Called ghosting?
The black stripes on our Roadster are showing some wear and that's just 2 years in the lower angle New England sun. It's garage kept, too.
Keep that paint sealed well with a good quality wax. Don't want to let that deep red fade to pink. I don't think I'd put stripes on the Mini if I lived farther south than here. Plus your red Mini looks great without stripes, anyway.
I took my stripes off about two years in. They were silver, and had a couple of stone chips and some "water spots(?)" on them that I couldn't get off with clay or normal cleaning stuff. I thought there was a bit of ghosting but a couple of wash and wax cycles later I couldn't see it any more. The car lives outside while I'm at work, but is garaged at home. I've been really happy with the look post-removal, much more so than when they were on. The car looks wider and lower and a bit more "grown-up" to my eye. Here's a before and after pic from my two years in change in look: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post3918198

Yes, it was made by a woman in CT. It has a plastic insert and little roll of bags. I ordered the bulldog pins online, trying to keep up with my theme. 😊

Yea, i think you have succeeded
The MINI one has a little opening on the bottom to empty the trash and lined on the inside. Like the Rubbish statement lol
