Hey guy, it’s been a very long time since I saw your name. I haven’t had my R59, as it left me in 2016. I went to a BMW M235i. Then in 2018 my wife passed away with complications with breast cancer. She had a terrible last three months, and that is when I got rid of the BMW. She wanted me to 1st Generation BRG and I did that. Then when she did pass, I traded it in on a 2019 JCW International Orange Racing Edition as they called it. I, never was satisfied with it, as the Orange, even with the Black wrap that I had done, was just too much. And, it was/is an automatic. So this year, my dealer asked me if I would be interested in trading it. They offered me difference, a deal that I couldn’t say no to, so I ordered another Mini JCW. This time with a manual, and Enigmatic Black, which is actually very dark blue. I think that I’ll like it, with the Mini Cooper JCW red roof, and mirrors. I, also went with the leather luxury seats. Love how they look, the JCW hood stripes, and black door handles. The car is done, and the latest is that it is on it’s way from Baltimore. It was suppose to be here on December 23rd, then the 27th, and it still isn’t here. They are promising it before the New Year. I’m not betting on it. So, how are you doing?
I left my Roadster JCW 2015 at a detail shop here in Ky. for paint correction and ceramic coat. One of the places where it looks the worse is on the stripes. It is a different pattern than what I have seen on others and wonder if it was an option for the 2015 JCW roadster or was added by the original owner. Any help would be appreciated as I don't know whether to have the same ones redone or not. I am pretty sure I will have to get the same pattern if there is discoloration or fading to the paint. I may however get white with a red pinstripe instead of the silver. Any thoughts? Any ideas how to get the spots out of vinyl stripes? Thanks. I added the black stripe in the middle next to the red one to try to cover up the silver a bit more as it is the silver part that has spots like water set. Back stripe.
Posted this in what you did to your MINI, but adding some photos here. Boy what a difference the paint correction and ceramic application made to the car. All the defects are gone, no smudges, scratches and looks brand new. Thank you Gorilla Shine in Lexington ky.
Installed wind restrictor, it works well.
Paint corrected, ceramic applied.....good for 5 years!
I had red strips on my 2014 JCW Coupe that were getting spotty. I used a little tiny bit of Black Wow on them as I recall and it worked out. I use it on the black plastic trim for years. The stuff lasts forever it doesn't take hardly any on the trim. Boy that car looks great btw. I'm pretty sure my new JCW Clubman had some kind of ceramic paint treatment on it when I bought it.
No, the E38 went to an enthusiast owner so I could customize the Volt, but then with the pandemic I wasn't driving the Volt at all (didn't really have a use for 2 electric sedans after getting the Bolt for the wife) so I traded the Volt in on this Cooper. I was needing a convertible in my life again and wanted a JCW Roadster since I saw one new in the showroom back in 2012. But pushing $50k for a MINI was a bit out of reach at the time.
