Thanks! I thought about swapping summers onto these at one point, but I went for the Breyton 18's in the end. Looking forward to getting them back on!

Thanks Spiney for your winter tire input!

I've heard too that using RF snows helps minimize the dry winter "mushey-ness" the non-studded snows typically exhibit in dry winter driving conditions.

Suspect I'll be looking at Bridgestone Blizzaks, Michelin xIce 3s and Nokian Hakappelita R2s for next winter on dedicated winter wheels for our R59.

Hibernation is Over!

The snow finally melted and it's dried out enough to finally bring Rojo Calor out of hibernation in the back shed. And as a "Welcome to Spring", we made the change from the OEM Run Flats. The new shoes are Michelin Premier A/S mounted on 17X7.5 Sport Tuning Black/Machined wheels. I liked at the black/silver JCW R112 wheels, but cost from MINI was too much. The new wheels were as close to the JCW look as I could find at a more reasonable cost.

Also posted in the NAM Marketplace to sell the (4) R112 JCW silver wheels with OEM Conti ContactSport 3 SSR R/F and TPMS. Wheels are perfect, 7500 miles on tires with 7/32 tread. $600 w/ pickup (I can deliver within 75 miles of northern IL (60511). PM me if you know anyone interested!

Yes, I admit I have a 3 season Roadster! In our area, you don't go out very much when it snows from Jan-March unless you have 4 wheel drive...plows are pretty scarce on our rural roads, and they drift over an hour after the plows go through.

And I didn't want to consider an All-4 Countryman...

You're brave, KennyR, considering how schizophrenic the weather is in the midwest.

That's just about how I feel so far.

16,000 miles now, we're going on our second year by this August, and It's still such a thrill to drive every time

It still feels brand new with no issues.
The only bug I found is very rarely the window will get out of sync and not clear the A pillar plastic properly when closing the door. I think it has to do with we opening the door to quickly or moving the windows or something... Once the door is closed again it's all back to normal. I could mention it to the dealer but I don't know they can do anything about it... I'll mention it the next time most likely but since it's so rare I doubt they'll find something. Sometime you ask them to check into a mystery issue and they'll do more damage trying to trouble shoot

My spring project has been to add new Tenzo DC5 wheels and de-chrome my 2013 Cooper S Roadster. (Still not sure what to do with side decal yet - whether to keep, remove, or replace with something more red.)

Rich: Very nice...good looking wheels! I don't think the side decals fit the theme you're looking for...if you really want a decal, maybe one that's black-on-black...subtle, but noticeable??? Now, time to ride!

Good thoughts - yeah, I'm thinking that no side decals might be best option, though my wife still likes the white ones, so I have not done snything yet. But these seem to compete with the rest of the car.

I tend to agree with you. The side stripes seem to be competing a bit with the overall aesthetic. If they were removed, I think it would go far to highlight and draw your eye to the wheels and calipers. It would also allow them to tie in better with the bold contrast of your viper stripes. I vote for no side stripes.

Me too. If not none at all, red or black/dark grey would probably look better.
