R58 My coupe adventure
lolWhite silver it is, got a load of bits to put on it including H&R springs being fitted next week.
Post some pics with the springs on. The high ride height is the one thing that bugs me about the Coupe (or all Minis for that matter).
Like the color combination and those are the Lounge Leather seats I really wanted but didn't get. Nice configuration and I'd take a right-hand drive MINI, it is British after all.

Right, I've got a few things lined up so the plan is to fit on each of the days leading upto Christmas!
Here we go...
'12 mods of Xmas' - Day 1
Time to get rid of the original aerial - this is one thing MINI could have designed better with it hidden in roof or something.
Stubby looks much better and takes the attention away IMO

'12 mods of Xmas'- Day 4
Time to match the duller yellow side light bulbs with the brighter white headlamps.
I've detailed instructions if anyone's thinking of doing this themselves.
The bulbs used are 501 LED's which were purchased from autobulbs direct,http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501...er-Bright.html
you can get similar on EBay etc.
Fitting:
Bulbs as standard

First you need to access the bottom light cover in wheel arch, turn steering on full lock facing away from wheel arch. Locate the lower light unit cover in wheel arch, just twist to remove. Reach inside and you will feel the top bulb holder of side light- twist to release and slowly pull out being careful not to knock bulb into side light housing. Once remove, it will look like this....

The 501 LED and standard bulb...

Simply remove bulb from holder by pulling out and replace with LED. Turn your side lights on to test LED - you may have to take the LED out and reinsert the other way around into holder for it to operate.

Now simply replace in holder carefully not to knock LED, insert and twist to lock holder into position. Again check side light is on before replacing wheel arch cover for lower light unit.
So from standard bulb...

With LED bulb fitted...

Repeat on other side as above.
Standard:

LED's must be 'canbus' in order to send right circuit around system to prevent warning lights being displayed on dashboard.

'12 mods of Xmas'- Day 5
Nothing exciting to look at today..... Time to change the filter...
I've gone for an ITG panel filter again which I had on the clubbie. You instantly feel the car more responsive sucking in more air, releasing more hissing from turbo and popping from exhaust

Excuse my naïveté and my tardiness in posting this, but from where did you get that sport antenna? I'd love to get something like that for my upcoming Coupé.
Otherwise, that is an absolutely gorgeous R58! It makes me even more excited to get my White Silver/Black Coupé S!

Strut brace is from GT tuning http://www.gtt.uk.com/packages.asp
As for the stubby aerial- I picked this up off eBay but MINI also sell them now

As one of my ideas didn't go to plan :( , this will have to cover day 7
Back to the interior...
New alloy tax disc holder- to get rid of the terrible MINI holder, and graphic applied to break up the piano black dash insert.

Wow! You are making your Coupe look REALLY good with these little changes. I appreciate that most of these changes are minor and cosmetic yet make a nice presence. Little changes that I wish would come from factory.
Thanks for the links! Do you have a link for the Grill Surrounds?
