Thumbs up

Spectatular looking coupe. Love the little suttle changes and can't wait to see what's next.

I followed you and your "old" Clubman from Clubman Register and pages of Modern MINI and glad to see you jumped in to Coupe... Great color selection!

Thank you. I saw there has been some discussion on the topic in other treads, but didn't see a definite answer. I'll have to add those to my order options list when I put mine on order.

'12 mods of Xmas'- Day 9

Last of the minor mods...

The aim is to change all the internal bulbs to blue LED's*
Footwells, puddle lights have all been changed but I can't access the main light in roof lining :( It's the same as a R57 and the only way in that I can see it to remove the whole unit- if anyone's knows please let me know, not even my dealer can give me the instructions!*

Footwells

This is the overhead internal light unit I can't access*

Brakes - Would love to have the JCW set up but I'm going to stick with standard brakes but add some original MINI JCW drilled / grooved 294mm discs.

'12 mods of Xmas'- Day 12

Last mod ...... time to sort the wheel gap!!

I've gone for H&R's this time round as I've run Eibachs in the past. Although not a huge drop- it's currently sitting 25mm lower all round after fitting. I expect it may drop a little more once everything has settle down over the next week or so.

Before...

After...

Stock...

Now...

Very tasteful and nicely done. Wish our crappy roads would allow for 18" wheels.

Car looks fantastic, maybe just a bit more tire sidewall for my taste.
Congrats.

Few updates...

If anyone fancies fitting a chrome filler cap that are normally on cooper S's, to their coupe / roadster- don't bother because it won't fit. Although the rear end is based off a R57 there are a few differences including the internal boot.

Kind of a tradition but I always get a factory boot mat, those interested in getting one for theirs, you'll need a R56 type and NOT an R57.

Rubber Boot Mat - Cooper S Logo - R56 | BM51.47.0.418.666 at www.minigenuineparts.co.uk

Finishing off my bulb swapping, I've now changed the number plate standard 36mm festoon bulb for LED's - a noticeable difference from the dull yellow glow.

With thanks to H. STGLTZ, finding out how to remove the dome light for the coupe & roadster it was time to finish off the bulb changing.

The dome light is secured by retaining clips inside the unit nearest windscreen, all you need to do is pull the dome light down from the front - even though it doesn't look like it should come out like that :/ , I used the little lip above airbag light to grip and held the trim around top of windscreen to secure whilst doing it ...

Whole unit pops out...

You'll see the three black bulb holders for dome light and reading lights- just simply twist to remove...

This photo shows the black holder and original bulb. The blue LED bulb that I was going to use doesn't fit due to LED's around side of holder - so this will be replaced with a single LED as soon as I have received it.

Having finally worked out how to remove the interior dome light unit it was time to replace the standard bulbs.*

For the dome light I replaced it with a blue wide angle single LED due to the limited clearance of the bulb holder going into circuit board, these ones I found of eBay are suitable for MINIS and do not show up as a bulb error..

Dome light now replaced...

Unfortunately the camera didn't pick the full effect of the blue lighting but it does give a good effect...

While I had the dome unit open I replaced the reading lights with some brighter 501 led bulbs, this picture shows the difference between standard on left and LED on right...

Now with all bulbs changed...

That finishes off all the bulbs internally and externally.

next mod - to fit these...

Thanks for the comments guys

@rayzmini - sure you can get the bulbs from a supplier over there somewhere, I've posted links so you can see the types of ones I've fitted..

Side lights - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501...er-Bright.html

Puddle and pedal lights - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501...red-amber.html

Headlight indicators - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/581...tor-bulbs.html

Side indicator bulbs - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501...Repeaters.html

Number plate bulbs - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/239...ANBUSLED3.html

Reading light bulbs - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501...d-colours.html

Dome light, this is the type of bulb you need to clear circuit board - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501...ulb-White.html

Think that's about it

The H&R's are firm, the reason I brought them was because they were the only spring available for the coupe at the time. I'll revisit the suspension later in the year when some cheaper coilovers are released.
