Top won't go completely down

The top on my wife's 09 base Cooper won't go all the way down. It looks like the window isn't folding all the way down. I have looked and can't see anything that would be getting in the way. Any suggestions?
Thanks

There are two switches that need to be compressed. One in the upper left corner of the boot door and the other under the left foot of the cargo shelf. Also, make sure the two release levers are down and locked just inside the boot on each side. Another place to look is along the channel on either side wherein lies the hydraulics and electricals. Something could have gotten back in there. Hope this helps, nothing worse in the world than having a drop head that won't drop.

I've got the same issue. Car with a padlock symbol.
When I was trying to open the roof it was stalling. Moving an inch at a time then stopping.
Engine wont turnover either but everything else appears to work fine.
Hmmmmm
Lights are on and don't seem to be functioning in a dimmed state so it can't be the battery can it?
LOL

Possible not enough battery life to move the top and it checked the voltage then stops and locks.

Load test the battery and check for voltage first, then check the lock , trip sensor switch in the trunk on the shelf foot. Then look to the hall sensors or the purple relay on the side trunk.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I looked into that then I was worried that I had damaged one of the sensor mechanisms as I was trying to stuff my hockey bag in the trunk when all this happened.
As suspected it was the battery but no way to verify immediately as the wife took the van to work
Called roadside assistance and they mentioned that one of the cells is done.
Time for a new battery.
Thanks again for the info

You are welcome. Yea, if the battery is toast most likely that it.

No, I never figured out what was wrong. I think the rear window is keeping it from going all the way down. It is going almost completely down but does not make it according to a sensor. Wish I knew where it was or if I could even see it to see if maybe the sensor is just bad.

Do you have pics. The rear window will just step down a bit before the top goes all the way back. There is a a hall sensor in the top . I have PM you the internal info .

My R57 convertible top is getting stuck right befor the top finishes going down all the way. I checked and the rear window is jamming against the rear trunk and the rear roll bar. Sticking so hard it feels like the window will break when it stops moving.

I am having the same issue. Sometimes it works after a few tries. The fabric from the top appears to get stuck on the rear roll bars which causes the rear window to not lay down flat. It's as though the convertible top fabric is too taut. I have this theory that the top needs to be warmed by the sun to make it more pliable.

Mine got stuck bunching up on the back of the roll bar when it was in my garage about 58 degrees. But last weekend mid afternoon when out in the hot sun
It went down just fine. Not sure how to fix it.

I finally did figure out what was causing my issues. There is a stitched seam that came loose and was binding on the hard plastic bow not allowing the window to fall flat. The new top will be installed in a few weeks.

Good to know on the seam

I will try to look for the seam hanging up while going down. I cannot afford a new top so I will need to find a way to make mine work with what I have in a DIY mode.

I am having the same problem with the back seam. There is a thin layer of material glued over that seam that has come unglued and allows the seam to snag on the crossbow. Any suggestions on how to solve it with a DIY option? The material must help the seam slip past the bow without snagging. Getting a quote for a new top from dealer but I expect that to be a significant expense.
