Yellow engine warning light

The sticky seemed to apply to an S in the other area...

My wife has a 2011 mini with 1.6 litre and manual transmission. She is a warning light that she looked up in the manual that says "full engine power no longer available. Drive slow & get checked out" It also says that if the light turns red to not drive it.
I drove it the other day and besides needing an oil change, it has 15k and this will be the 3rd oil change, it was stumbling a bit when starting out.
She drives it to work each day @ 14 miles RT. We just got back from a 2200 mile trip and it ran fine so carbon build up shouldn't be an issue since I was regularly hitting 90 for extended periods.
Anyone have an idea what might be happening?
Thanks for your time.

2011 does not appear to have carbon issues like 2010, especially at your low milage. Without knowing the codes it's only a wild guessing game. And since your under warranty don't guess, get it in. Could be bad gas ? Or many other things.

I just went and got the car and took it in for a code reading. Cylinder #2 is misfiring. I am not familiar with these engines but sounds like a plug wire or plug but the guy said it might be direct spark where each cylinder has its own coil... ANd that those babies run @ $400 a piece - update: just checked e-bay and they're @ $90.
So I'm glad you responded! Maybe you can direct me further...
I also erred in the mileage, it has 34,000 and it has had 4 changes. How's that for not paying attention?

No wires really, coil sits on plug, not $400 but not cheap. Get it in ASAP, if it's missing bad it can destroy your cat/s

Thanks, now if I can find them!
Can you direct to a video or schematic? Looks like I have to take off valve cover because it's all encased.

Change the COP to a different cylinder and see if the code changes with it. If so buy a coil and be done with it.

Sorry, but I don't know what COP is. I don't even see plug wires. The whole engine is encased in plastic. Is there a drawing somewhere?

Go to realoem.com, enter the info and you can pull up diagrams.

You could also look for the coils on ECS Tuning. They may have a diagram and possibly a how to video or write-up.

Once you get the cover off, it will be pretty apparent.

I found MINI at ECS, it is listed under Mini...
But I thought it was a R57? Because videos I've seen on Youtube have a guy replacing spark plugs and it is totally different, right in front where the oil filler is on this one. My son thinks it's under the heat shield in the front.
Guess I'm going top have to buy a manual.

COP = coil on plug. What I meant was move your coil to a different cylinder and rescan to see if the error moves with the coil.

4 yr 50K , that's why I was confused as to why you want to make repairs.
