Delay between shifts?

This might be normal for a mini so Im asking. When Im WOT and speed shifting I notice a delay between shifts. Almost like the car cant keep up with the shifting. Is this normal?

Is this why they have a upgraded ALTA bov spring for? loss of boost between gears?

I've noticed this in "regular" mode..."sport" mode seems to help. No science / facts, just seat of the pants from trying it a few times both ways.

If it's an N-18 engine the Valvetronic has a bit of a lag in it. Keep speed shifting and you'll need a clutch someday. Ask them when they replace the clutch.

Im not making a habit of it. I messed with a VERSA turbo from a light and noticed it.

I guess the stock clutches cant take much abuse?

Just in reading posts here, of course a skewed sample since often people only post when they have issues, I read of several early (< 70k miles or so) clutch replacements.

I'm treating mine pretty gingerly as a result, not really a limitation to spirited motoring. But I won't be bracket-racing at the local dragstrip
