That looks absolutely awesome. I think this is the first actual picture (not press picture) I've seen with the "Auto Off" button in between the Sport and DTC on an R57...
Congrads.
One question: How did you get the Camden black lights? Was it an option on the Euro spec R57, or did you get the parts dept to order it seperately and service to install it for you?
I'm very intersted in just the Camden black light assembly to replace the silver one that was standard on the 09 R57s.

Unfortunately not. That option is not on any US spec Mini that I know of.
Looking at your pictures, I notice that you have the JCW badge on the boot lid, but I don't see the same on botton of the JCW Aero Kit on the front. Did the dealer forget to install it when they installed your JCW Aero Kit?

When idling for a period of time (I think its like, more then a minute) the engine shuts itself off, and will re-fire when you press the clutch pedal. Makes it so if you are sitting at lights, you don't sit there and burn gas the whole time the light is red.

MF: Speaking of MPG, is the R60 going to feature MINI’s start stop system used outside the US market?
VK: This is one of those classic price versus volume conundrums and it all hinges on take rate in the US compared to Europe and Asia where gasoline costs two to three times as much. So, let me re-enact how this went down. Like today’s MINIs, Auto Start/Stop only works on the Manual transmission. In the US, the majority of MINIs (about 62%) are equipped with the Automatic trans, which means only 38% (about 18,000 per year) of all US MINIs are eligible for the ASSF (Auto-Start/Stop Function.) So, because there is a smaller base, the price instantly doubles just for us to break even on the business case. So, imagine instead of $250, it is now $500 extra for every manual transmission MINI to get this option. So, what we just did with the price increase was drop take rate even more. Worse yet, appeal would be low for the majority of MINI owners because there would be no difference on the fuel economy figure because the EPA does not recognize ASSF in its test cycle, so the window sticker would show no improvement, despite the real-world increase of 1-2 mpg in the city. So, not every manual-trans MINI owner will want to pay $500 for something that theoretically gives them nothing, so if we put in a realistic take rate of 20% on those manual MINIs (3,600 cars), we’re now looking at $1,000 for this option, just to break even. Who’d buy it then? Give it about two years, and we’d have to discontinue it. This is the type of stuff we go back and forth with all day. It kills me not to have it here, but the market dictates what we bring here.

#1 - People have arleady started to do just this. Check out https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...eadlights.html
#2 - I took those part numbers, went to my dealer and confirm they are orderable in the US and are currently on backorder but a large shippment is in transit from Germany to the US parts warehouses.
#3 - You're looking around $700 for each one which is MSRP, but you might be able to get a good deal.
#4 - I placed my order for a left and right ones today. I got a pretty nice deal, so it should arrive in the next few weeks hopefully. I'm going to swap out my chrome ones and put them up for sale to re-coup some of the cost.
Updated: On the link above, the last thread (https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...93-post34.html) indicates that you need the VIN from a Camden otherwise you're order will be cancelled. Hopefully mine won't be cancelled becuase of that one restriction.

I have to ask, what is that "up arrow/down arrow" above your Openometer Timer? I dont think I've evern seen that on mine?
Also, is it a bit funny that the analog Openometer on the left is showing what looks like 41 or 42 mintes, however the digital read-out shows 39 minutes. I had always thought that the minute value on both should always be the same, as you reset the both with a single push of the reset button...
Weird.

Hey, Zanary... Didn't I send you a link last year to the site where you could buy black xenon headlights? Those were from UK site with shipping to USA. I guess you have forgotten about it
So after much research I finally found the answer.

Yeah, I think that was last year, and I didn't want to pay the shipping and Duty when it arrives to the US.
Plus when I saw the Camden lights, I really liked those. I'm still waiting for the call from the dealer to tell me they've arrived. Hopefully it will arrive soon.
